I have seen that online only but at times have been lucky enough to see them instore.

Really starting to dig this album. It's a bit more mellow compared to the previous two albums but I find that refreshing. I just feel the songs are so well put together from what i've heard so far.

Got a copy instore easily, 20 bucks.

Only up to Full Moon Shoals, but Ride was one of the most how should I say, growers of an album I've ever come across in my life and I think this one will be the same.

WTF?  Why is Bleeder Dispoiler like half a song?

wolfking

I've been spinning this album a lot in the car the last two weeks.  I love it.  As MrBoom said a little different but the band are evolving nicely and really are continuing to focus on songwriting and it's paying off.

There's nothing here not to like.  They've really focused on great melodies too, like The Nuturing Glance and Ageless Whisper.  I love the more catchier commercial approaches with Stalfagel and Witan, both of those are amazing.  Needles and Kin is also by far one of the coolest songs they have ever done.  The 'unshed tears' section is one of the best moments in Soilwork history, it's fucking epic.  Master's Tale is Soilwork showing In Flames how to be In Flames.

New song "Feverish"! Honestly one of the best Soilwork songs i've ever heard, but you can clearly hear the TNFO influences in this song :lol

I hate when bands release a random song for no reason.  At least put it as a bonus track when the album is released.

I actually really enjoyed that but man, I'm starting to worry about their other hand infiltrating Soilwork.

Polarbear

I think i read somewhere that they are releasing two new songs over the next five months. "Feverish" and those other two songs will be compiled into an ep, along with a different version of "Stålfågel".

And yes, the TNFO influences in this song are VERY apparent, but i'm not worried yet. :P

Yeah, I'm not too worried just yet........

Damn I can't find the prog metal thread, i'm certain i've seen it before?

Anyway I post it here in the meantime. So Dirk is playing on a new project/band called Articulus, I thought it was pretty good. Sounds a bit like Circus Maximus.

At lesst there's the heaviness still.

Not a fan of these random one off songs though.  Just keep them and do an album.

gazinwales

I'm sure that they will be on the next album.

I thought I read that new Soilwork won't be seen until 2021, so seems a bit pointless.  Unless I'm totally wrong.

gazinwales

If this is the case and no new album until 2021, then releasing these individual songs to keep the bands name in the 'spotlight' is perhaps a good idea?

Yeah I guess while they concentrate on TNFO.  I will have to find the article I read not so long ago.

SOILWORK - Death Diviner (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)

I like the chorus alot but other than that nothing really new. Always nice hearing Soilwork though.

wolfking

That whole 7 minute narrative about the Feverish Trinity was cringey as hell.  WTF? Lol.

Polarbear

Pretty good song!

I read somewhere a while back, that they will release the "Feverish Trinity" EP when all the songs have been released. I wonder if that is still the plan?

devieira73

These 3 songs are excellent! I'm not gonna lie, I've heard the band because of TNFO and I like much more the Dave Anderson phase. Their last CD is their best to me.

Something new is coming from Soilwork camp in 23.10.2020! :tup Seems like a new song at least, but I wonder if there will be an album announcement?

Hmmm....not sounding all that heavy from that sample.

That song didn't absolutely nothing for me. I feel that Soilwork is slipping back to pre-The Living Infinite.

I really like the EP title though "A Whisp Of The Atlantic".

I think the opposite, they are going further and further away from their old stuff.  I didn't mind the song, but it's more of the same.

Polarbear

Song was good imo!

Nice to have Feverish, Desperado and Death Diviner in one place along with the two new songs.

I don't remember where I saw this, but someone was claiming that the title track of this EP, was like 17 minutes long! Obviously take this with a heavy grain of salt, but if this is true, I'd be super excited to hear a Soilwork Epic! :metal

gazinwales

interesting that so far it seems that the EP will be vinyl and digital only, no CD?

I keep dipping my toe in with Soilwork but these new tunes do nothing for me either. I felt the same about The Ride Majestic. I adore TNFO so am surprised I don't get enjoy more of it. I possibly just don't like the combination of styles in Soilwork. I don't feel any of those heavy yells or blast beats make sense in whichever one of those tracks they were in. They're a "heavy metal band", of course, but don't have any gravity to me.

In general, I'm pretty down on metal these days, so I might be a lost cause but what's their best album, if there is anything like a consensus?

gazinwales

Maybe they are one of those bands that are simply not for you.
I have many of them, don't waste your time on music that you probably don't like, life is too short.

Try their old stuff which is a bit different.  You could go Chainheart Machine for some straight ahead brilliant melodic death metal, Natural Born Chaos for some more melody or Stabbing the Drama which is somewhere in between.

ariich

I could never really get into Chainheart Machine, but Natural Born Chaos is fantastic from their early work.

APP I always thought was very underrated also.
