Well, and the fact that there aren't separate black clouds and silver linings "parts" to the album.
That too.

Meh. It's alright. It's my least favorite on the album and my least favorite of the AA Suite, but it isn't particularly bad. It just isn't very memorable.

This.  In fact, one of the points of the title is that, in different ways, most of the songs on the album have to do with both black clouds AND silver linings (with the obvious exception of AROP, which is just riffs assembled around a wikipedia article).
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Call 'em like I see 'em.

Point of order, Wikipedia articles usually don't rhyme. Thus, AROP is poetry of the gods.

BLISTERING

oh wait...
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

I think I'd have to agree that AROP is the most emotionless song they've ever recorded.

I'm never serious. Now lets see if we can steer this thread back on topic.

I'm not a fan of their newer, more metal sound. Not to say that its bad music persay, but its not what i want to hear when i play a DT CD.

Yesterday, I stumbled upon a video of DT playing a longer intro to Scarred, including a (mostly) tasty JP solo. I'd love to see them taking more shots at this atmospheric mood in a full-band treatment, but I really don't see it happening (despite the ambient part in TCOT).

I would too.

I would be kind of a sad panda if BRGM gets his own smiley (even if it's that one) before me.

But that's how it works, I guess.

I agree, in DT terms Awake is definitely an old album.

I love TSF. Not the best song on the album or even in the 12 step songs (that would be TGP) but for me it's definitely a close second place.

Come to think of it, I'm tempted to agree. It isn't bad per se, just empty in that respect.
