At some point I'll buy this due to it being the swan song but it's $30.98 on Amazon. That would be the most I have ever spent on a CD.

Well, it's 3CD and a Bluray. I just got from Amazon on Sunday. So, it's not a bad deal.

Wow. Ok. I guess I didn't dig deep enough into the description. Looked like just a CD. Thanks, brother!

No problem emtee.  :metal

Yesterday, I listened to the new live album, and I learned/confirmed 2 things.

1) This is a great band live, even when performing something that is not my favorite material.

2) I fucking hate medleys.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Medley Schmedley
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

Yeah the medley was one big tease. Especially disappointing at Morsefest where they probably could have done at least three of those songs in full.

I like Into the Blue but I’d happily trade it for All of the Above or Duel With the Devil.
Keep Shine in the setlist just to have something to represent Kaleidoscope.
I don’t think anyone was clamoring to hear In Held, swap that for My New World.
Then in place of the Medley you can close with Stranger in Your Soul.

I said it before, and I’ll say it again. Playing rarities is cool, playing your classic songs in full is much cooler.
Great show for what it was, but oh, what could have been…

For those who ordered through Radiant.
NM just posted this:

Today is release day for Transatlantic: The Final Flight - Live at L’Olympia!

Unfortunately, we have not yet received our stock of the Blu-ray / CD set.  They ship from Inside Out in Europe to our team in the USA. The vinyl made it here — but so far the rest has not.

I appreciate this can be disappointing for people who ordered, as it is for us. To help curb any disappointment we are happy to share an MP3 download of the full audio from the live show — free to everyone who ordered from us. When the remaining stock arrives, we will ship as quickly as we can.

So if you ordered via Radiant Records, check your email inbox for a download link.

We hope you enjoy it!   Thank you for your support and I apologize for the delay,
For anyone that did order from Radiant and got the email with the download link, does your link work? Mine does not...go figure...

I get both sides of the coin. Playing rarities at a "rarity" type event like Morsefest is something I can usually get behind. When the NMB come in and play all of ? and Sola Scriptura, it's great to also hear New Jerusalem and A Whole Nother Trip.

But with Transatlantic it's a whole different thing. This was their one and probably only chance to play at Morsefest (with all the bells and whistles, as MP would say). Doing the same medley as you were playing on tour is not what anyone wanted. I get that learning a bunch of material (5+ hrs) is TOUGH, but honestly, that's what the guys sign up for. That's what Morsefest is for. As much as I'm a big fan of Into the Blue and look forward to hearing it, not getting Above, Duel, or Stranger in full is robbery. I agree with the changes you would have made to the set, would have been much better set (on paper, anyway. I wasn't there and it could have been awesome.)
I don't want MP playing with DT unless they were making a drummer change. If they let MM go and bring back MP, then fine, but no guest appearance please.
WELP.

I don’t think anyone was clamoring to hear In Held, swap that for My New World.

That's when MP went into full "covers & rarities" mode and added the cover song nobody wanted to hear in the set, just because it was featured on their debut album, over 20 years before
It sounds like, "ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk." Instead of the more pleasing kick drum sound of, "gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk."

I like medleys, but I don't think the set finisher here is a particularly balanced/good one. Good performance though.

The Whirlwind here to me is not really a medley but a summary of a larger track/concept and I think it works really well in this form. And here it is better than on Kaliveoscope.

I think In Held may have been Roine’s suggestion. He spoke before the song at Morsefest about how when he first met MP during the sessions for SMPTe, they bonded over their love for Procol Harum. Wouldn’t surprise me if Roine requested that song. Either way, it wasn’t needed.

Woah, woah, let's not assume here. While it is a cover, my buddy and I were both stoked when In Held ('Twas) in I was played at Morsefest Night 1 last year.

But I agree about the medley.  Night 1 was already better because of The Whirlwind, but Night 2 felt like it stuttered a bit over the finish line with that blasted medley.   I get doing it on the proper tour, but with two nights of Morsefest, to do it then just felt lazy.   I say it before, but knowing that Transatlantic was only going to do Morsefest one time only ever, for Into the freaking Blue to get played in full and the epics from the first two albums to get relegated to medley status was a travesty.

When y’all sing along with WANSL do you sing the high part(Neal’s part) or the low part(the harmony)

Radiant *just* sent me an email saying my copy of Final Flight from them has finished processing and provided a shipping number (though because it isn't in the system at USPS yet, I assume they've printed the label and prepared the package for shipping either today or tomorrow. Glad I've had my copy from Roine for three weeks.  ::)

So I got my order of Final Flight from Radiant today, and in addition to a signed laminated tour badge, I also got a paper sleeve with "Disc Two CD" of Morsefest 2020 Lockdown. I'm not sure why, as I don't recall reading about any issues with it, but maybe someone else can fill me in as to why it was included in my order.

LaserCD were selling the 3CD/1BR set for $27, don't seem to see it listed on there now.

They sold out and are expecting a shipment. But they do charge shipping ($4-$5) so it comes a buck or two less than Amazon.

That was my reason for ordering there. Less than amazon and arrived sooner than amazon would.

This is an amazing performance. It's already become my favorite recording Transatlantic has ever released. Whirlwind Tour still close but this performance wins out. I don't know if the Morsefest performance will top it but I doubt it. As expected Pete is all over the "universe." What a show.  Blows away the first two shows of the tour that I saw (as I expected it would.)

"Snake to the tongue
and a feast for the eyes
But under her cloak has a beast in disguise"
?

Not in the original lyrics, obviously. If it's a reference it's lost on me.

EDIT: Feast, not Face.

From the latest Inner Circle Letter

Quote
Transatlantic's special extravaganza weekend in the U.S. was filmed and properly recorded, of course. This one is actually coming out on InsideOut Records! So, it is even maybe more deluxe of a package than the other ones have been… well, not “maybe,” for sure it is!

I'll have to wait to see it all. But you know how InsideOut is. They'll do a super deluxe package for sure. And that is going to be coming out in March, I believe. So, we can look for preorders for that in January. Just to look to the horizon...
