Do you trim the hedges?
« on: March 08, 2010, 11:16:59 AM »
I'm actually rather curious of other people's landscaping habits.  I just finished trimmin' the hedges and it's something I've started a few years ago.  Given that I prefer my *ahem* lady's garden to be trimmed at the least, I figure they'd appreciate if I kept the plant life to a minimum.  I've never had the balls to "scorch de earf" though.  Well, I did once in the back yard, but that's a whole other story.

I love talking in code.

Do you "cut the grass?", "Do the military approach?", "eliminate the area where fleas can live"?

I have 9 footers (cedar obviously) around my place.
Takes me between 3-5 hours.

Oh man  :lol

As of recently, I have decided to start trimming the hedges. It started with "feels itchy man", but now it's all good.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

I would trim if I felt there even the slightest chance of having a guest over.

Judging from your posts in the avatar thread, I don't see that as a serious concern for the foreseeable future.

In context to the rest of the thread, this is the funniest thing I've read all morning. People are looking at my awkwardly now in the library.

I trim them about twice a year.  If I don't then people complain that the overgrowth blocks the sidewalk.

:lol  So true and I wouldn't want a lady friend using a machete to get to the tree.  How often I trim depends on how often I plant my tree.

I did once, but I trimmed them too low and the old man next door beat me with a rubber hose and yelled "THOSE ARE MY HEDGES, YOU DON'T TOUCH THEM"
