Anyway, I'm sure of they wanted a heavier lineup, they could've asked Duran Duran to play.

"Festival of Rack" sounds very impressive.

He was absolutely correct.  It IS a festival of rack.  Once he realized that the place was literally SWARMING with all kinds of women from their 20's to their 50's, STILL convincingly rocking 80's looks, he hasn't missed a year since.

Anyway, I'm sure of they wanted a heavier lineup, they could've asked Duran Duran to play.

:lol

But yeah, it's a hell of a lot of fun.  M3 gave me the opportunity to hear Joe Lynn Turner sing Stone Cold live.  That was a pretty big deal.  I got turned on to ZO2 at M3.  I got to see one of Donnie Vie's last performances with EzN.  I finally got to see King's X and Steel Panther there.  And, I had arguably my worst hangover there, after a night of Jack Daniels and Budweiser.

Freaks me out a little that women in their 20s would WANT to come to something like this.

The 80's are alive and well.  Whole families are showing up for these festivals.  People bringing their young kids.  Everyone having a good time.

That's cool.

I mean, my eldest turns 21 in June, and there's no way she would show up to that.  She might come to a more general 80s festival, but not this.

Because of the specific genre of the bands playing or what?  That would make sense, most 21 year olds aren't gonna dig this kinda music, but there's surprisingly more of them than one would imagine.

Honestly, I'm actually looking forward to seeing Loverboy.  I think they'll do a good set.  Also, Station, who I mentioned in the Hard Rock thread.  Plus there's the annual Epic Tailgate Party in the parking lot (directly underneath the "NO TAILGATING" sign), prior to Friday's show starting.  There should be a good couple hundred people there from the M3 group I'm a member of on FB.  Philly 80's cover band Old School plays the tailgate party, which is an added bonus.

I enjoyed seeing Loverboy in the 80's.  I saw them with Saga.  Let me know how they sounded Coz.

Yeah, the genre.  She is aware of and likes the "fun" music from the 80s, but this kind of stuff would hold no interest for her whatsoever.

You did a horrible job raising her to think that this wasn't "fun" music.  Shame on you!  SHAME!!!!

Well, it's fun to me (in small doses), but to her, it would be seen as not much more teenage male fantasy propagation, celebrating sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll, in 3 1/2 minute rampages of 4/4 time, and lots of Aquanet, flamboyant clothing, long hair, and guitar solos.

Which is not incorrect.

A 20 year-old young woman who is EXTREMELY feminist-minded is not going to think highly of a form of music whose lyrics paint her as not much more than a piece of meat is not going to think it is fun.  And she would just laugh at the way they dress and carry themselves.

Nothing wrong with it, but let's just say that she is definitely not their target audience.

Nothing to fight about.
Besides, the only times FP inspired anyone to raise a fist, it was either,
1. to kick their ass, or
2. to give them a middle finger

Even the rest of the bands on the M3 Bill make fun of Faster Pussycat.

Nope. It ain't like that.

I've seen Faster Pussycat. TWICE. In 1987. The worst live band I've ever seen.

Not making fun of the genre at all. Just bustin' on FP.

Loud Live Alive is a phenomenal live album, but to be honest, I never cared for anything they did in the mid to late 80's.
