Pretty good! The singer sounds great. I wasn't expecting him to get the higher notes, but he actually had a really smooth transition to the high notes, although I wonder why he sang the last chorus an octave lower. Also, the lower harmony was a bit loud on the F#, so it almost didn't sound like he went for the F#5 even though he did it well.
I preferred the performance of LTL to Erotomania, but both were pretty good. Congrats.

Pretty good! The singer sounds great. I wasn't expecting him to get the higher notes, but he actually had a really smooth transition to the high notes, although I wonder why he sang the last chorus an octave lower.

It was a combination of necessity and choice. That last part he was struggling with a lot, so we told him "why don't you try to sing it an octave lower to see how it sounds". We all thought it sounds great because his timbre really comes out in the lower range, so we told him to sing the whole thing in the lower octave, except the very end to have that dramatic effect.

I think the CD is slated for fall. They need to get all tracks together, master them, and then put everything together.

I just watched you guys' performance of TTTSTA and noticed how in the time between the end of LtL and TTTSTA's start the crowd's applause was very tame. It kinda annoyed me given the excellent level of skill your band puts forth in every song. I assume you all were opening for Mantra since Tool is more popular than DT? I hope not since aside from learning a couple odd meters here and there only Danny Carey's drumming is worthy of creating any kind of awe in a cover environment.

I probably would have produced it a bit differently. I like the keys and drums, most of the guitar is great with one exception so far (and it's realllllllllllllllllllllllly minor). Still don't like the singer though, he hits the notes fine, but the way he pronounces things and his lack of...expression just irks me.

I agree on the singer. There's just something missing.

I also notice that the keys stick out a bit more in some spots than in the original song, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Overall, very impressive work.

There were a couple of spots in the two songs where we consciously changed the mix from the original, to emphasize things, yeah.

To clarify: I was saying I think it's pretty silly for a Tool cover band to get the opening slot since DT's music is way more worth covering since most people with minimal musical experience can tackle Tool's material with the exception of the drums and occasional vocals. I realize though since Tool is more popular unfortunately more folks are likely to show up for the Tool cover band.

Not sure whether it had anything to do with our conversation about practicing, where they were saying they practiced twice a week, and we said we practice about once a month

Like the singer, but I will say one thing: he sounds so much better in his lower range.  I don't think it takes away from the songs to have him sing lower, either.  Just makes them a little different.

Your keyboardist looks like Andrew Bryniarski, the singer looks like my friend Tim, the bassist looks like my friend Derek, Rumborak in that picture looks like a mixture of my friend Nathan and Colin Mochrie, and your drummer looks like Nestor Carbonell.

Great stuff. I listened to your Wait for Sleep take too, and it pisses me off how people talk continuously during performances. Really, no respect for the musicians up there giving all their effort and energy into doing a worthy replication of some of the best prog music created.

Well, it definitely changes your perception of the DT tunes you're playing, because now you really know all the nuances inside out, and you also know which sections are tricky and which are not.
