Who is your fave? As in just the vocals themselves, not whose band you like better.

Daniel. I mean, I recognize and appreciate how good Russell Allen is, but his vocals don't "do" it for me the way Daniel's does. Neither does James'.

I dunno who Russell Allen is and I don't like PoS.
So the B man gets my vote.
I wouldn't want somebody with 18 kids to mow my damn lawn, based on a longstanding bias I have against crazy fucks.

Russell's vocals are awesome on TDG. But after that it's more gritty, and I'm not a gigantic fan of that style

Daniel Gildenlow is perhaps the most overrated person on these boards; I don't see how he's good at anything at all

JLB's my favourite. That's not to say he's the best of the three, as they're all great vocalists, I just prefer the tone and emotional range of JLB's voice over the other two.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I went with JLB. Pre-accident, there was no touching him. Now, however, I'd say Gildenlow. I used to not like his vocals very much at all, but they've really grown on me recently.
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

JLB, with Russell Allen as a close second.

And I adore all three bands.

If Gildenlow's keeping himself in check and not just going batshit crazy, I'll go with him. There are times when he overdoes it, though.

Daniel, easily.

Phenomenal voice and emotion. He also has the technique to pull off any style of vocals to portray different feelings.

He can also actually sing live :loser:

James LaBrie.  Though I wish he had Russel Allen's live consistency and Daniel Gildenlow's brilliant ability to write and construct harmonies, James voice wins for its emotional range and character.  He sounds unique.  Allen and Gildenlow, as great as they are, are a bit too specialized for me.

Oh. I don't know why people consider him good.

My guess is because he is. Extremely strong natural voice, good range, only sticking point I could imagine is his melodramaticism but the prog world ain't exactly the place to start bitching about that kind of thing.

And me.

Russell for me too. Strong voice, good character, his agressive vocals wipe the floor with the other two and his beard's better than the other two.

Daniel Gildenlow is so horribly over-melodramatic, that I actually cringe through most PoS songs because of it. It's like listening to a hammy broadway singer with a great band behind them.

I've probably heard more Russell Allen's Atomic Bomb music than Symphony X. :lol

Anyways, they're all great vocalists, but JLB is the man. Russell Allen would take second.

LaBrie, but Allen comes in a very close second place. Gildenlow doesn't kill me; he's good, but I find Allen more passionate in heavy songs and LaBrie faaaar more passionate. Allen is really good but lacks of passion in soft songs, while JLB is dedicated both in heavy and soft songs. Just wish LaBrie was as stable in live performances as Allen, and this is why Allen comes in a close second place.

Additionally, Allen's Beard Kicks ass.

JLB by a pretty good margin.
