I decided to try to make at least one cover solo on the day of the release and I chose this song of course

The solo is nice and you can go forever with it. Mostly it just goes with the chords so it's easier to remember. It took about five hours yesterday to learn, write tabs, practice and record it  :o

i just don't think it makes sense from a musical standpoint to fade out there, though
it didn't have a "this is the end" feel to it like take the time or scarred do with their fade-outs, or even the best of times
it just

ends???

Well, this is a stretch explanation for me, but this is DTF anyway, so I might as well take a stab at it.  :lol

The musical themes in the Lord Nafaryus songs are always a throwback to old styles. Lord Nafaryus has tango. Three Days has swing / jazz / big band. The end theme in A New Beginning is most likely a Lord Nafaryus theme because, as some have noted, it is a throwback with a 1980s vibe. And you know what is very prominent in 1980s songs? FADEOUTS. I just listened to the Van Halen, Yes, and Trevor Rabin 1980s albums I have on hand right now and the fadeouts are all over the place.

Does that sound convincing?  :lol

The fadeout is there because the cd clocks in at 79:59 (and only can hold 80:00 minutes). I think this will be one of the moments were we get an extended solo during The Astonishing Live.

I was pretty bored through the run of ravenskill to the x aspect. And this part was getting me back into it, and then a fade out  :lol

This.

I am still a bit disappointed in the fadeout though. It would have been better if the drums dropped out and JP finished off the beautiful solo with a nice long sustained note or something. Even so, it is still my favorite song on the album. I love the vibes it gives off. It's really something special and I haven't felt that from DT music for a long time.
So fking tired of being an oversensitive naive moronic fkin bitch. I CANT STOP IT. I CANT CHANGE. IM STUCK. This world eats me alive. My purpose is simply to be what others shouldn't be. A shriveled fking beacon of sad energy. I have lost. I am lost.

Well, you know what, that sounds more convincing than "I feel DT thought "welp, we've got nothing more here, so fadeout" from the official TA thread.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Great song, perhaps my favourite of TA at this point. I don`t really mind the fadeout if it wouldn`t have stopped :whahibridopickingant: from JP at this point.
So, I was a little bit annoyed as well, but it don`t care about it anymore now.

you can do a throwback without taking the worst aspects too, though  :lol
i thought we'd collectively decided fadeouts suck some 20 years ago

A couple years from now when the 3 CD live version comes out; someone will make a thread about how A New Beginning live version is better and I'll probably agree.
I wouldn't want somebody with 18 kids to mow my damn lawn, based on a longstanding bias I have against crazy fucks.

I'm really surprised at people who are getting this upset at a fade out. Normally, I wouldn't care, but the first disc had as much as music as possible on it. The fade out might have been a necessary thing due to that. And it's not like the live concert is going to have a fade out there.
