Yes. They took that Sci fi show and turned it into an action film (although a decent one). Unfortunately they obviously didn't care enough to do anything new with the second movie which was just a rehash of the first. Of course all movies are made for money, but some definitely more than others.

My reason for being weary of Batman/Superman is that we've already seen Superman fail.

Except that the franchise was in dire need of a reboot and a stylistic change.  Now with TV I don't want change because they can have a story arc that can have less action that a 2 hour movie needs. (We are talking Star Trek, not all movies)

Yeah. After Voyager then Enterprise and finally Nemesis - something needed to change in Trek world.

And when it did - everyone loved it but the die hard trekkies, who wanted the same old Trek as before even though they all hated Enterprise and Nemesis anyway.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

If and when there IS a DC Movie Universe, there can be.  Right now, there is just Man of Steel, and this proposed future crossover.  Such things have been announced before and never actually happened.
