I'm confused. What's the name of the band touring with the hologram?
Dio Disciples = band consisting mostly of instrumental members from later Dio line ups touring with hologram, Oni Logan (ex-Lynch Mob) and Tim Ripper Owens (ex-Judas Priest, ex-Yngwie, ex-Iced Earth)
Last in Line = 3/4 of original Dio band (now 1/2 after original bassist Jimmy Bain died) with unrelated guy singing

Both originally started purely a tributes to Dio's music, but Last in Line has now progressed to writing/recording original music too (they have 2 CDs out)

Have you heard those two CDs?   I'm THISCLOSE to just buying them, and I would have in a heartbeat if Jimmy Bain were still involved (in my opinoin, he was the secret sauce of Dio).

Motorhead's Classic lineup of  Eddie Clark, Phil Taylor, and Lemmy are all dead, as is Wurzel.

When did Wurzel die?  (Rhetorical; I can look it up, but I didn't know he passed.)

HA!  The original Jimi Hendrix Experience is no longer with us.  Jimi died famously, but Noel and Mitch each passed in the mid-aughts.

Of all the folks touring with Dio's hologram, are any of them from his original line ups?

If not, it's just odder.

Lineups (plural)?

The "original" lineup was RJD, Vivian Campbell, Jimmy Bain and Vinny Appice.  Bain is dead, but both Campbell and Appice are involved with the band Last in Line, which was formed after RJD died (Bain was also originally involved with this group, as was Claude Schnell, who played keyboards on the albums Last in Line through Dream Evil).  Last in Line started by playing songs from the first three Dio albums but has also released two albums of original material.

The hologram band is called Dio Disciples and consists of Craig Goldy, Simon Wright, Scott Warren, Bjorn Englen, Oni Logan, Mark Boals and "Ripper" Owens.  Obviously, none of the singers were in the band Dio, but Goldy, Wright and Warren were in the "final" version of Dio (Goldy also replaced Campbell, and Wright replaced Appice, with each lasting only one album before leaving and subsequently returning).  Englen was never a member of Dio.

I have no idea.... but is anyone really interrested to see one of those hologram tours?
And if so, are you paying real money for it or hologram money?

I get ads for the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles in my Facebook feed, and one of the shows currently being promoted is for Dio Disciples.  The comment were almost unanimously negative.  The show was this past weekend.  I have no idea how well it sold or how much tickets cost

I have not - got away from listening to Dio's music a while back. I've just kept up with what's been happening courtesy of Blabbermouth.  :P

Get the first Last in Line album (Heavy Crown) then - the secret sauce is on there.  ;)
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

I didn't know him, so I checked. It seems that he died in 2011.

Not by much.  D.J. Fontana died barely over a year ago, and Scotty Moore didn't die until 2016.

It helps if the band members are making lots of money but yeah there's always personality clashes and stuff.

Hologram tours, well I wouldn't pay to see a Dio one. The Zappa thing had real Zappa alumni except for the drummer I think. I didn't pay for that though.
