Damaged Box from Box set...
« on: September 27, 2011, 12:42:21 PM »

It feels nit-picky...but should I ask for a replacement or something? I opened the box and the top was damaged, as seen in the picture.

I'd be happy if they just sent me another lid for the box. It's is such a beautiful set, it is a shame the box is damaged.

Hard to say.  Can you do another picture?  I'm not sure I know what was damaged.

You're lucky, when I ordered the signed special edition of Arjen Lucassen's Guilt Machine the mail lady first tried to stuff it into the mail box, and then threw it over the fence into my yard, breaking it irremediably.

Wow, that is awful.  I am very sorry to hear that...

I would ask for a replacement.  Or perhaps ask the shipping agent for a replacement at least...was it UPS or what?

Something similar happened to me with the Transatlantic Whirld Tour Special Edition (the box with dvd´s + cd´s). They threw it over my fence... right to my dogs. I still find little pieces everywhere in my garden...

I received mine today. There is scratch on the cap of the box looking just exactly like yours, but it is on the bottom instead of the top. Looks like it is crushed. It should not happen as the set is so beautiful.

If it's bugging you enough to make a thread about it, you're probably not satisfied with it, meaning you didn't get what you paid for, meaning you should ask for a replacement.

If it was me I wouldn't give a crap because the damage appears to be minimal. But it's your money, so your call.

Did either of you guys complain to the post office? I mean, if you know when it was done, they should know who was on that route and who needs to get their ass fired.

I received mine with the exact same damage, in the exact same spot.
The packaging I received the box set in was pristine.

I didn't care enough to return it.  But now seeing how multiple people are bothered by it, kind of makes me second guess my reasoning (wanted to keep it, have it, hold it, live with it, forever and ever.. my precious).

This is interesting. I have exactly the same damage on my Heritage box set. I've emailed Warner; still awaiting a response.

Be nice if my DT set was actually showing any signs of turning up at all.

Hey, from Thailand.
I also got damaged boxset.

Packaging for shipping is without any cushion or protection. They just put this boxset in shipping box and send it from America to Thailand with careless.

Previous boxset "Black cloud and silver linning" their shipping quality is very good. Why they don't do the same way?  :'(

I already contact to customer service and waiting their response.  >:(

It doesn't hurt to ask for a new lid.  The worst they can do is say no and you're in the same position you are now.  Probably the only real hurdle is that they probably didn't make up extra box lids.

Due to the various reports of damage I think I'll film myself opening it when it finally arrives so if there is any damage inside the box I can maybe prove that it wasn't caused by me...

In addition to my Opeth box set being damaged, my DT one, which arrived yesterday, is also damaged.

The immediate shrink wrap on the products was unblemished which means the fault lays with Roadrunner/Warner's manufacturing process rather than the postal service in my case.

It's fairly easy to tell if its postal damage or manufacturing.  Snapple's looks like manufacturing, whereas the guy in Thailand's looks like postal damage.  Record it anyway incase you get a golden ticket.

Speaking of which, has anyone seen or heard about someone getting one?

Somewhat off topic, but has something to do with a potential manufacturing mistake.

My litho print is pretty poorly printed. The contrast is really terrible, and it looks like something I could've done with my own printer on regular paper. The BCSL one is totally different, and is awesome. But the ADTOE one can't even be compared. I've sent Omega an email asking if it's supposed to be like that, even if I guess it's not them who have the responsibility for the manufacturing.

Is it only me that have this problem, or are all the prints like that?

You could email The  End Records Customer Service Dept. They are usually pretty good.

I ordered the Opeth Royal Albert Hall 3CDs/2DVDs and the plastic case was cracked. They asked for a picture and sent it away. Next day, they replied that they will send me a new one. Got it in three days. And got to keep the damaged one.

Wouldn't hurt to ask. Just make sure to take a good picture of the damage.
