Classical Guitarists Unite!
« on: April 04, 2011, 10:52:56 AM »
This is the spot for all things classical guitar related.  Give a bio, tell us what you've been playing, discuss composers, post videos, etc.  Keep the beautiful art of classical guitar alive!

I'm a classical guitar performance major at the Boyer School of Music at Temple University.  Currently pounding out the 20 Sor studies and the 25 Carcassi studies from Op. 60, as well as working through Bach's first cello suite.  I sort of had a late start to the classical scene, only been playing for 2 years now.  I've been a rock guitarist for most of my life but decided to find another style to challenge me, and I can be perfectly honest in saying that it has and still does and always will challenge me in more ways than I can imagine.  It's also made my rock playing tremendously better in a very short period of time, which is extremely encouraging.  When it comes down to it, classical guitar has really made me realize that the guitar is and forever will be my favorite instrument and my primary tool of expression.

"Nothing is more beautiful than a guitar, save perhaps two." - Chopin

I don't play a lot of classical guitar, mainly because I can't handle the nail-care. But I do play some easy pieces once in a while, I'm not very good though.

I love listening to classical guitar though, Segovia is a genius.
