I agree with Bosk in that MP is QUITTING DT!  He wont be back.

If JP and the guys move on they would be smart to offer the new guy a time oriented contract like 3 cd's and tours or like a 5 year contract.  It may not be smart to make any new guy a "member."  DT incorporated would probably hire the drummer to be an employee of the band (ala Eric Singer in Kiss).

If and when that contract expires maybe DT will reach out to MP.  I just dont see MP calling and DT simply firing the new guy to give him the spot back.  MP is choosing to relinquish his stake in DT.  The members who move forward shouldnt give up that power so easily IMO.

Its all nicey nice now between MP and the band, but as I said before in another thread, once the new guy comes in and does a cd and the band moves forward, I think the door will be closed.  If you and your girlfriend are splitting up and staying friends....the minute she starts banging the guy down the block, you wont be going back.  Its just too awkward ya know?!  I fear that things will get wierd between the guy one a guy sits in Mikes seat.  Even worse if the new guy gets a ton of fans support and critical acclaim.

If Mike aint back by the January 2011 studio appointment, I think he will be gone for good.  Assuming no drummer is hired in the meantime too.
