The Metal From Finland Thread
« on: September 12, 2015, 11:29:00 PM »
I've thought about doing this for a while, so here goes.
I listen to many bands from Finland that do not have their own threads, so I though why not start one for
all those lesser know bands from Suomi that deserve some further investigation.

Moonsorrow

Epic progressive blackened heathen metal, as they have been described.
They have released 6 full albums, all are different.
Harsh vocals in their native tongue.
Many songs are long, the longest being 30 mins.

There is no Moonsorrow thread on forum? We should make one :D awesome black with folky elements. When I'm in that mood, I can listen to them all day :)
What about Ensiferum? They play melodic death metal with folk elements. Their last two may be somehow generic but others are IMO peaks of the genre.
...the years just pass like trains
I wave but they don't slow down...

I can listen to Moonsorrow anytime, I even bought their 13LP vinyl box set, that cost me a fortune.

Yeah Ensiferum are another great band, I like all their albums, all are pretty solid.
But I much prefer the first two with Jari onboard.
Then of course we have Wintersun, Kalmah, Amoral, Brother Firetribe, Entwine, Bodom and the list goes on.

I really love Finnish metal. Can't wait anymore for Wintersun's Time II. Time I is one of the best albums ever imo.
