Yeah I saw that article. I want to read it more in depth because as a vocalist I can clearly understand some of this technical stuff.

Looking forward to your take.  I've never really made the effort to study vocal technique.

Very cool article.  I'm curious though, if the things that he was naturally able to do with his voice are things that a person can be taught to do or if it's an either you can do it or you can't kinda thing.

Note how some fans know of the higher ranges from bootlegs (the most knowledgeable still haven't chimed in).

I did laugh when I read that Freddie was #18 of the all time great singers per Rolling Stone.  RS hated Queen with a passion.  I checked their Top Twenty.  Sure enough, Bob Dylan was #7 !!!!!   Freddie could sing circles around him 100x, as could the likes of Steve Perry, Dennis DeYoung, etc.  Hell, so could Alice Cooper.
