The purist hated it.

Wasn't so much a purist thing, but rather the fact that the show suddenly had become distinctly American, whereas all the previous shows were all all very international. And of course, the fact that it's a Rod Stewart song. Rod Stewart.

I had forgotten how AWFUL the "Three's Company" theme is! Maybe WORSE than "Smallville!"

Dutch television show Pauw & Witteman. Most Dutch TV programs are so typical Dutch-flavored jazz.
They remade the theme, but it’s still awful.

Het lagerhuis starts pretty strong, but the climax is so weird. Now that I relistened it, it’s quite okay.
