Can someone recommend me something new to listen to?

Ok I've been a new music rut lately. Can someone make some suggestions? Preferably not death metal. Anything else I will give a chance. Also the thread could turn out to be useful because maybe other people might get turned onto new stuff as well.

Nope, I'm fresh out.

I've been getting into Mike Patton's bands lately: Tomahawk, Fantomas, Mr. Bungle, etc. If you check out Tomahawk, I recommend Anonymous.

I don't know your music tastes, but here are a few bands/artists that I've discovered lately:

Syd Arthur (prog/psychedelic - modern Canterbury scene band, so they're similar to bands like Caravan and National Health)
Silje Leirvik (Just discovered her today actually. I doubt anyone here would be interested in her music, but she's a really good singer/songwriter from Norway.)
Lifesigns (New prog supergroup featuring Nick Beggs on bass with a guest appearance by Steve Hackett. Debut album was released this year.)
Miracles of Modern Science (Interesting band that features a mandolin player, a cellist, a violinist, along with bassist and drummer...you can download their new EP for whatever price you choose here.)

Kings told me about the band dada.  Now they are one of my favorite bands.  They are alt rock, blues, pop kinda sounding.  3 piece band and amazing musicianship.  Definitely worth listening to.
