Not gonna vote here as I like WR and MO equally for my all-time favorite jazz fusion band.

Herbie Hancock is the fucking man. If it wasn't for Keith Jarrett he would be my favorite piano player. I have never heard an album of his that I don't like whether it be traditional jazz or fusion. He just does no wrong.

Weather Report would be a close second, followed by Miles, and then I don't know where the others would fall.

Even if you're not serious, I'm going to pretend you are and use this as proof that not all heroes wear capes.

It seems wrong to not vote for Miles Davis, but of those listed, Herbie Hancock is the one I listen to the most.  Head Hunters and Thrust are both pretty sweet, and Maiden Voyage is quite nice as well.

Mahavishnu Orchestra.

I went through a period where all I listened to, for about two months, was MO bootlegs. They were so far ahead of their time I'm not sure we've caught up with them yet. Brilliant band.

Went with Al, but I almost clicked Return to Forever.  Actually now that Gambale is touring with them, I should have voted them.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

I vote Miles because his exploratory fusion is what truly combined jazz with rock, funk and world music. Love the other bands, and Ive probably listened to Herbie Hancock more than Miles.

Like Kev I probably listen to Herbie the most of all these folks but all good stuff.
Oh Jackie, always jumping to the most homoerotic possibility.

Can't possibly choose between Miles, Mahavishnu and Return to Forever.

The hours and hours of enjoyment listening to those three alone is really tough to beat (It can be done, but not very often.)
