Title: Any prog/power metal singers in here with access to a studio?
Post by: Adami on December 14, 2009, 05:42:18 PM
I want to start a power metal thingy. Kind of like a decent mix of Kamelot, Rhapsody, Stratovarius and mixed with darker elements like some Dimmu here and there. Nothing fully written yet, but I was wondering if there's any singers out there who would be interested in doing an internet project like this. I write/record the music, send it to you, you write/record vocals and send them back and I mix it.

Anyone interested?

I'd love to do something like this, the only drawback is that I'm a horrible singer.

Well, I at least did my part by moving the thread for you.

I am a singer but im not sure if it would be the type that you are looking for.  I can't really sing metal and my singing is more simple like Mikael Akerfeldt(clean vocals)/Steven Wilson.  So i don't really sing like James Labrie or Russell Allen.  It's kind of hard for me to describe it i guess...

Here are 2 songs that i wrote/recorded:

Edit: If you are looking for a more powerful singer then I recommend looking up "unflexablegrace" (Will Shaw) on youtube.  He did a lot of DT/Sym X covers.  I met him a few times and he is a pretty nice guy too. He is prob one of the best prog metal singers out on the youtube world.

Here is a good one:

Oh, I do know a great female singer if you'd like to use any female vocals on your album.

I'm more in the Halford type mold, but I'd be up for contributing if it suits:
