I don't think you're gonna like it. But it was used in an episode of The O.C., which was parodied on SNL and thus became a bit of a meme. Part of the lore does tie it into Lost though, so maybe you'd appreciate that connection.
My memory is a little foggy on this, but I think there was an even more watched version of this that probably got pulled or deleted for some reason. But the theory was that the SNL "The Shooting/Dear Sister" parody skit was also inspired by a particular Lost scene in addition to The O.C., so someone mixed "Hide and Seek" into it. This is a similar one.

Cloakroom - Seedless Star...It's the mellower sections that are just alright, they sort of remind me of Slowdive but not as interesting.
The section at the ending is interesting too, I like that piano that follows the main melody. Just wished it had been integrated into the rest of the track instead.

I've been thinking about it and the only way I'd continue with this roulette is by eliminating the bottom 2 rankings after every round - doing so, the last round would end up with just the overall top 3 players. Now I don't like everything he does; I'd say in general I like about half of any given album. But that half is some really unique, fantastic music you wouldn't hear anywhere else. Black Wings, God's Away on Business, Underground; there's such an atmosphere to his stuff that no one else can capture, even though he's a fairly frequently covered artist.
I think a lot of it is textural as well. He has so many different voices he cycles through, and the instruments sound like they cobbled together random bits and bobs from the junkyard and somehow manage to make them sound good.

This track has a gazillion layers of stuff going on at once, and never gets boring at all. I don't understand how this is just track 2 instead of the album closer, but I guess it must make more sense in context - it's just too intense for that placement.

I know you've been up against it for the last year or so, and you've had some struggles, so knowing I sent you some music that helped in some small way is comforting. I'm sure you will love The Black Parade when you get to it, it's close to a flawless album.
Glad you liked those songs Lucas, I definitely recommend both artists. I know what you mean about the Nellie McKay song (and keep in mind her stuff is very varied and not much sounds like this, a lot of it is more... jazzy piano pop I guess?). But I also think it works really to make this intense emotional statement in a concise and punchy way. I think one of the early roulettes years ago had a "mini epic" round for songs under 3 minutes and I scored well with that one.Nice, I'll def check those out!
