RIP Irene Cara. Some bittersweet 80’s NYC memories for me. I saw Fame right outa HS. Teenage crush material.

Great movie that I still watch.  ‘Out here on my own’ as performed in the movie had so much raw emotion.

I only knew a few of her hits, but I remember hearing What a Feeling, the Flashdance theme song, for the first time and being pretty blown away by it.  What a voice she had.
