Being a pirate, does James have a parrot? What about John Myung, does he have a dog? What's Mike Mangini's cat like?

Jp and Jordan used to have cats.
Don’t know about the others.

Portnoy has had a couple (or more?) dogs in his lifetime. I believe one was named Bongo? I'm not sure what his current dog's name is but you browse his Twitter, I'm sure you'll find some pics.
If Myung has any pets, we would never know. We barely know anything about him, let alone his pets! :lol

Mike has listed his pets on several occasions in the "Thank you's" on various records. I can't tell you which ones off the top of my head, and I'm not home so I can't look it up.

Portnoy has had a couple (or more?) dogs in his lifetime. I believe one was named Bongo? I'm not sure what his current dog's name is but you browse his Twitter, I'm sure you'll find some pics.

Mickey is his current dog who's a bit old at this point. Mike definitely tweets a lot about his dog. I don't recall seeing or hearing much from the other members of DT having pets.

Wildranger's Op would've been something like this..
It's a fact that most rock and metal musicians have dogs(not all, but most) and can't stand cats.
What you think about this? Is it contrary for some persons to be fans of both animals, because they are a big minority?
Do Dogs and Cats have to be such a two big rival pets?

JP carries a racoon or possum on his face all the time so I guess that's classed as a pet.

Look, I don't want to go all P/R - but, as you all know, I will if I have to (and have in the past, numerous times) - but it's got to stop. The ridiculing of pet owners is deplorable, and doing so (especially on social media) is really a root cause of too many thing including, but not limited to, gun violence, high taxes, and, of course, the recent spate of COVID cases and the rampant divisiveness of our country (https://www.psychologytoday.com/hee-hee-hee-this-is-really-fun).

:rollin Yeah, I get how absurd that seems. I mainly lurk here really, but I should really post more or something. For full disclosure, the idea came up in conversation of a practical joke for a metal site I'm involved in running where for April Fools we'd do a joke "dog review" or something of a metal band member's pet, and I was wondering if any DT members had pets.
It is a pretty damn weird question though. I found out about Portnoy's dog Mickey though thanks to this thread and it turns out he has a whole IG account with 11K followers which is as cute as it is funny as hell: http://instagram.com/mickey_portnoy

JMX has a chinchilla called Boris.
Mike Mangini has an African snail called Zildjian
John Petrucci has a wolf called Beowulf.
Jordan has two Siamese cats called Tick and Tock.

Dunno. I've asked the same question in the past and none of the mods responded (either because they didn't see my post or didn't care to respond).

Wish I had a dog, but living alone isn't really the best scenario for a dog. Maybe when I retire in a few years.
