Title: A Savior in the Square's INTRO Split-Screen Cover (Guitars/Keyboards)
Post by: ToT-147 on May 08, 2021, 05:03:09 PM
Hi everyone!

So... it's been a while since my last post in the forum, and even more since I started a topic, although I kept reading some threads here and there.

I was (fortunately) very busy with a lot of musical projects lately (including my own prog metal band), and this "split screen" cover of this great song was one of them.

Actually is only the intro of ASitS, because it was only this guitar player you'll see in the video and myself playing keyboards, so the plan was covering songs or fragments of songs that you can play with those two instruments.

Ok, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Just don't understand how you managed to get the young Derek Sherinian to help you with the keyboards.

:lol

Great job, man! :tup

Been wanting to upload DT covers myself for a while, but too lazy and too busy to get enough practice to actually make videos with acceptable playing for DT standards

So you mean *I* look like the young DS?  :lol

Well, I definitely cannot play a DT's fast or too difficult keyboard part/solo. Just did this one because of the idea we had with my friend. It was between this and LaBrie's In Too Deep's outro. I did a cover of Another Day too with some folks a couple of months ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goyXIXgc01o

A song that it isn't too hard either. But yeah, like you said, it's all about having time to do it.

Your Another Day is way too good to only have 396 views in a year.  A lot of effort went into it.

But, hey, at least you got 1 thumbs down.  I wonder why people downvote stuff like this.  Do they genuinely not like it or are they mad cuz only DT is supposed to play DT or who knows.

This means a lot, thanks!

And yes, it does take a lot of time and effort to do these kind of things. But Idk, I guess we do it more for having fun learning the song, playing it, making the videos, putting them together and, propably most of all, watching the final result, than for the sake of getting views. It's nice to share it with other people who like the same music, and that's good enough, being that we're not even a "project".

Also, we had some more views on facebook and instagram. But yeah, I get what you're saying!
