Title: Literary Lyric (Beyond This Life)
Post by: ZeppelinDT on April 11, 2020, 06:23:05 PM
So I’ve been reading through George Eliot’s “Middlemarch” during the last few weeks and came across these lines today.  I guess JP has a taste for classic literature...

I'm honestly surprised it's not acknowledged more than it is. I found that exact quote on a park bench in my home city, some years after hearing Beyond This Life. I was blown away.

Wow, that's pretty cool.  I mean I know this is a "classic" novel, but it's so monstrous and this is just two lines buried in a 900 page book, and I feel like it's one of those classics that isn't read too often just because of how daunting it is.  I certainly never knew about this quote myself until I read it in the book yesterday.
