"2020 is slowly coming into focus… I am impatient to share with you all the new music ready to go next year. Not only did I finish my own second album earlier this year, I’ve also completed an equally exciting secret collaboration album that will be coming out in 2020. Also on the cards is another project I’m really excited to have had a large part in co-writing and has been such a pleasure to work on. So that’s 3 for the price of 1! So much new music is waiting to burst out and emerge in 2020 with what I hope is the right team to share what is my most personal and challenging album…”"

Super Producer David Botrill just posted a clip which sounds intriguing. "Echo Echo" is an Acoustic record which certaibly differs from the Industrial side of Bullet Height and I presume IAMX normally has

As far as I know Sammi Doll was only ever a live member of IAMX for the 2013-2014 tour. Chris Corner is the only actual band member, who is also the founding band member of the Sneaker Pimps.

Pepe Deluxe
as they said by they will have all the music written and recorded by Early Spring (which 20 songs/tracks already are written, which if 2/3 would suggest 30 songs/tracks could potentially be on their upcoming record).

Happy New Year & Decade!
We tried very hard to finish the album by the end of last year. Didn't quite happen - but now about 2/3 of the compositions (20!) are pretty much ready. If things go as planned, the music work is done by early Spring.
When it's gonna be released? That's a question for the record company - we just work here!

24: Nektar - The Other Side
I'm listening to this right now because it's been on my list for a couple weeks. I am really enjoying this. It's traditional progressive rock from the old days but with a nice modern production and some wonderful playing and songwriting. Basically feels like something out of the 70s yet also modern. Never heard of this band before but I guess they've been around for 50 freaking years. I am impressed. One of the better albums of 2020 so far, imo. I urge fans of prog rock to check this out.

I'm hardly an expert, but if you enjoy their new record, definitely give some of their classic stuff a go. "Recycled" and "Remember the Future" perhaps.

Well, funeral doom isn't really your thing... :dunno:

Monolithe - Okta Khora (funeral doom)
Monolithe has always been really consistent. Their earlier albums are better, though, imo.
Played it last night. I was having fun already and then the saxophone came in. Holy shit!!

You should give Monolithe II, III, and IV a shot. That was them in their prime! The new stuff has all been pretty good too.

Fish-Weltschmertz... Announced for June via his Facebook
-
Chris Amott (ex-Arch Enemy guitarist) released a synthwave album on Jan. 27 called Electric Twilight, gonna listen to that today

They've been just announced for ProgPower Europe 2020 so I'm gonna listen to it tomorrow after I've got through the new Delain album I guess
-
Not necessarily adding to the calendar but this is just what I have on my listening agenda this weekend:
02.03.2020 : Richie Kotzen - 50 For 50 (blues/rock)
02.07.2020 : Delain - Apocalypse & Chill (symphonic metal)
02.07.2020 : Green Day - Father of All Motherfuckers (punk rock)
02.07.2020 : Stone Temple Pilots - Perdida (alt rock)
02.07.2020 : La Roux - Supervision (synthpop)
02.07.2020 : Ironflame - Blood Red Victory (power metal)
02.07.2020 : Aesmah - Walking Off The Horizon (melodic death metal)

02.07.2020 : Richard Marx - Limitless (easy listening)
02.07.2020 : Operose - Oceans of Starlight (progressive/symphonic metal)
The bold are the main ones I want to get to, everything else is just kinda random picks from other people's lists this week, kinda like walking through the grocery store and just grabbing stuff you didn't come to the store for but still want to try

It sounds like it's band recording Classic Rock tunes in a different way, sort of making them sound classic with modern production?

Lately I've been working with some music supervisors for tracks that would play in movies and shows. So I've been tailoring old songs and writing new ones for this purpose. Thought I'd share a few of the recent tracks. Hopefully you'll hear them in some upcoming movies/shows! But coming in the future will be a few albums/eps that have no directives -- just good old fashioned albums in my style. Love you all!

August 28th: Tim Bowness - Late Night Laments
Tim Bowness will release his sixth solo recording, Late Night Laments (Inside Out Music / Sony), on August 28th, 2020.
Mixed by Steven Wilson and mastered by Calum Malcolm (The Blue Nile, Prefab Sprout), the album was co-produced by Bowness and Brian Hulse.
Richard Barbieri, Colin Edwin, Kavus Torabi, Tom Atherton and Evan Carson are amongst the guest musicians.
The artwork is once again by the award-winning Jarrod Gosling.
An emotionally charged and tightly focused album, LNL presents a collection of lush, atmospheric songs with a wide lyrical scope making it the most intimate yet universal of Bowness’s solo releases.

The Tangent - Auto Reconnaissance
Only listed as a "confirmed title" in the top post, but it's had a release date for over a month or two now.
-Marc.
updated.
The release date wasn't posted in this thread, until this post of yours.
:tup Thanks. I guess I'm the only one here who cares enough about The Tangent to update its release date in this thread! :lol
Another update:
September 29th - The Backstage - Isolation
And the date for John Petrucci's Terminal Velocity looks to be based on an incorrect date. Most places I see have the release date as October 30th.
-Marc.

no, not incorrect. August 28th is for the digital release (iTunes and High res services like HDtracks), October 30th is for the physical CD version. (which John all mentioned)

Huh, very weird for the digital release to come TWO MONTHS before the physical product. I didn't realize the digital release was so far ahead. I also didn't see a digital download in addition to a CD purchase from John's website, so I guess if I want to hear it ahead of the CD release, I'll have to buy it twice...guess he knows how to get fans' money!

Randy McStine said "It was supposed to land in two days, but if 2020 has taught us anything, it's that we don't have time to waste, waiting around for days that aren't promised." So they (yes, they, it's a McStine & Minnemann album) decided to release the album 3 days ahead of time. I downloaded my pre-ordered copy from bandcamp last night, it's a good spin! Just as a reminder, if you haven't bought it yet, please buy it on FRIDAY as bandcamp will give all the profits to the artists themselves on Friday and not take a cut from your purchase!
