Does Opener mean first song off an album?
Never done one of these before but I wouldn’t mind joining in. Do I just PM you the song I’m choosing?

Yup! A Spotify link, if you can.
Also you all don't need to worry about submitting for Round 1 quite yet - I'm not going to start listening until everyone's joined.
Senecadawg has joined in via DM. We've now got two former champions in here, this should be interesting. :corn
Will send this afternoon/evening
Nope, rejected that one.
Oddly enough, I haven't seen that DTF emoticon yet. I have a list of about 70 or 80 of the "secret" ones that I've been compiling :vanillaice:Nope, rejected that one.:youfail:

I think I had about 240 at last count, but remember boss saying there were 7-800. I think Blob has the largest collection.

Give me O
Unfortunately there were no songs submitted this round with "taco" in the title.
This one had some pretty interesting influences and certainly didn’t come across as generic. That instrumental section leading up to the final chorus was stellar.
Woah, this was actually really damn good. What a fantastic buildup and ending.
A bit more abrasive than I prefer this type of metal to be, but still has some elements that are right up my alley.
This one gets weird halfway through. I think in a good way?

Some nice progressive metal on the heavier side of things. First listen didn’t leave a huge impact on me, but I could see this doing pretty well.
Do we post our decisions to use perks in the thread or do we PM you? Asking for a friend.

Posting in here is fine, unless you wanna play mind games and keep it a surprise until after the cut-off point.
Bear with me for the hangman, getting it ready now. Haven't done one of these before. :lol
This just isn’t really my kind of rock, unfortunately.
Felt pretty generic. That’s the biggest complaint I can think of for it, though.
Nice dreamy vibe. Liked the post-rock influence.
Only heard one other song from this band. The vocalist sounds a lot better in this one, for whatever reason. Pretty good stuff.[/i]
Oh boy, you revealed who sent what. Hey Puppies!
I'm gonna spend my guess on Anabasis - Human Supremacy Illusion

Ding ding ding.
Going forward, should I keep who sent what anonymous until the full results?
I was going to frame Puppies for sending the one I did. :lol
Cyril loses 1 point for each additional guess he made :metardica:Can't lose more points than I'm getting
FUCK that took longer than I thought. I might just program something to make this easier for me. Gonna step out for a bit, have at it while I'm gone.I've got a program to do that but isn't finished, I think I'll take this chance to smooth it and share it here again :P
This just isn’t really my kind of rock, unfortunately. This one specifically
"Arcarsenal" by At The Drive-In.This is such an awesome album opener! It just comes out and kicks you in the teeth, in the best way possible. Nice pick Ruba!
Aerosmith - Back in the Saddle Again
Figured out what puppies sent.Yeah. It's a longer one. I'm surprised the artist wasn't banned.
Interesting pick from you :corn
Really pushing on that length limit too.
Aerosmith - Back in the Saddle Again
Wait a minute. The host is from Boston and Aerosmith isn't banned??
Surprised you're going out of the gate with your favorite album everI thought about saving it, but it was such an obvious hole in the banned list, I didn't want it to get taken.
Granted, I checked and I already sent the EotW album opener last roulette so :P
Aerosmith - Back in the Saddle Again
Wait a minute. The host is from Boston and Aerosmith isn't banned??
Interesting.
Tim what would you have sent knowing this? I would have sent King's and Queens.

Am I unbanned from guessing yet? :corn
J Boy sent Mystery-Delusion Rain
Second hint, Chad should know the song.Oh I thought Kat already guessed it. Tommy Tutone - 867-5309
Okay I probably should have specified that "guesses" applied to both full song guesses and requesting letters as well.
Eh, what the hell. I'll write up better rules for the next one. It's not like this impacts scores or anything.
Ruba you're unbanned. Cyril I might unban you later if this slows down too much. xD

It's an ironic title given the theme, yes.train of naught
Well that's the hangman! Anyone wanna place bets on which song's going to be #1? :corn
This one had some pretty interesting influences and certainly didn’t come across as generic. That instrumental section leading up to the final chorus was stellar.
With how long this song is, I didn’t expect it to be so quiet for such a large amount of its runtime. Will definitely need more listens to decide if I think this works well or not.
Felt pretty generic. That’s the biggest complaint I can think of for it, though.
Woah, this was actually really damn good. What a fantastic buildup and ending.
The synth work is definitely what stands out most to me in this track. It gives the song a bit of a different vibe compared to most other stuff in this genre.
Only heard one other song from this band. The vocalist sounds a lot better in this one, for whatever reason. Pretty good stuff.

Interesting.
Tim what would you have sent knowing this? I would have sent King's and Queens.
Kings And Queens is easily my favorite Aerosmith song, but seeing the theme is Opener, Back In The Saddle isn't a bad choice. It has such a great lead in.
To me, their most kickass album opener is Jailbait.
This one had some pretty interesting influences and certainly didn’t come across as generic. That instrumental section leading up to the final chorus was stellar.
that's the one i was referring to before, yes, but i haven't put it into active rotation just yet so i'm not familiar enough with any of the songs :PThat might be a good pick.
either that or train's favorite 2016 album

Can't complain! Will work on the heavy song!:kingshmeg:
I like heavy stuff. The top ranking songs in the first round should probably make that clear. Send me more! Hail Satan.
Hey Buddyhunter, I'm not in this roulette, but I'm just dropping by to recommend that you give a listen to the live version of Marillion's The Invisible Man. I like Marillion a lot, but they can tend to plod a bit on record and I've found almost all of their live stuff to have a lot more... life in it, and a lot more intensity. That's an incredible performance. Marillion is one of the best bands I have ever seen live.

6th Place: DTA (+9 Points)
Coheed And Cambria - In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3
First Impressions: Only heard one other song from this band. The vocalist sounds a lot better in this one, for whatever reason. Pretty good stuff.
To elaborate on my first impressions, that other song is Welcome Home, which I gave another listen to after receiving this. I still like that song more, but for whatever reason, the vocalist sounds a lot less goofy here and didn’t bother me at all like he did there. One thing these two songs share in common is that they’ve got some really good guitar riffage, which I always appreciate. The chorus of this song is super catchy and definitely the highlight of the song for me; “man your battle stations” has been stuck in my head all week and likely will be for a while longer. I’m kind of amazed how big the chorus sounds despite being so sparse instrumentally. I think a lot of that grandness comes from the vocals, so hey, I guess I can say he’s a good vocalist after all. I also like the gang vocals that come in for the final chorus to make it sound just a bit bigger than the ones that came before. As for the rest of the song, the intro and verses are good. The slower middle section of the song is fine, but probably my least favorite part of it. It kinda feels like it’s just there for plot reasons; I know this band has quite the elaborate plot and lore. Maybe one of these days I’ll actually do a full dive into one of their albums. Maybe.
yeah IKS is 100% their best album no question---ROUND 1 RESULTS---

His voice changed significantly between their 2nd album (In Keeping Secrets) and 3rd album (Good Apollo I - the album Welcome Home is on). I have difficulty figuring out what exactly changed, but it's noticeable and I too prefer his earlier voice as it just sounds a bit more unique and pleasing to the ear. I highly recommend the entire In Keeping Secrets album as the title track is only the tip of its awesomeness.

Dude, as many times as I've heard the Marbles album (hundreds of times), I still tear up at certain parts. Just knowing the story behind how and why that album was written and then the raw emotion that is poured in to the vocals and lyrics, it always gets me choked up. And then seeing them perform stuff from Marbles live is just on a whole other level. There's a damn good reason it's my favorite album of all time.Hey Buddyhunter, I'm not in this roulette, but I'm just dropping by to recommend that you give a listen to the live version of Marillion's The Invisible Man. You all are so impatient! Fine, I'll post first impressions early:
This song's too slow to have blast beats.
This song's filled to the brim with blast be- actually I'm kidding it doesn't have any.
I don't think blast beats had even been invented at the time of this song's recording.Stadler
Puppies' is the one that has them a second in and he sent the song off that album I was expecting him to send

Wrong, his doesn't have any until almost 20 seconds in. -10 points off of your song.
Stadler sent Black Sabbath
Forgot what I sent, as usual. 3 or 8? I don't know :rollin
Sounds like power metal on steroids. Probably not something Id usually listen to, but well see if this grows on me.
Well, this one comes in like a fucking meteor impact. Thankfully it’s got some quieter parts, otherwise it would just be exhausting.
Der Weg Einer Freiheit - Skepsis
Seemed to strike a good balance between heavy and melodic. Some nice guitar work.
Alright, let some others make some guesses! :P

Well, this is quite a change of pace from what you sent last round! Wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being the heaviest thing I get. Not quite sure what to make of it yet.

That's all folks!Don't have enough confidence with how hit or miss I suspect this round will be
Also, casual reminder to send me a message or post here if you want to use a perk for this round. Some of y'all could probably use it.
you doubled your song already :PI think it works better as 1 whole track.
i'm genuinely curious why you decided to send both parts of skepsis, in the context of the album i guess it's fine but pt. 1 is the weakest track on the album and pt. 2 is one of the strongest so
also part 1 isn't really that heavy :lol
Something worth clarifying about the ranking swap perk: if a participant uses one and they were already ranked #1, they won't get any additional points, but if #2 also uses the ranking swap perk, #1's perk will cancel out #2's and they'll both stay at their original rankings. Will this come up in this round? We'll see :corn
This also means that theoretically, if everyone remaining all used a ranking swap perk in the same round, nothing would happen.

It's your roulette, and you make the rules, but perhaps a "perk" of finishing first is that you don't get bumped down? That if #2 guy uses it, there ends up being a Tie for the first place points?
Alternatively, cap the number of spots a person can drop? So that if 8 people in a row use the ranking improvement, the guy finishing ahead of that list doesn't drop 8 places simply because he chose not to (or already had used) his ranking improvement.
Perks are cool; fairness is cooler. It'd be hard to swallow if someone was in the position of giving the 3rd best song, but getting 10th place points. Especially since anyone in the bottom half would be foolish NOT to use one of the perks this round, since elimination is looming.

Too bad you didn't like the vocals that much, but you also said you wanted more female harsh vocals and most of their songs have more growls than this one.
presumably when i do actually use my double points perk is gonna be the one round i score low and thus waste it :lol

Are all the growls in that song her, too? If so I'm impressed.
Out of curiosity, did Sacul/Nekov/Parama rank 1-2-3 regardless of the ranking swap?
Sorry, I'm going to be pretty busy today. I'll give the three songs a handful of listens tomorrow, and depending on how long it takes for them to sink in, either post results tomorrow or Tuesday night.
If it's more convenient for you, you could send your round 3 song in advance; I just won't listen to it until the tiebreaker's over and I know if you got eliminated or not.
Tiebreaker first impressions:
The cheese was strong with this one.
I liked some parts of this, but as a whole it seemed pretty corny.
Yeah, I don’t know. I can definitely see the appeal here. I’m just not sure if it does anything for me, personally.
Oof. This is going to be a tough one.

---ROUND 3 FIRST IMPRESSIONS---
Definitely hits the atmosphere it was going for. I wasn’t really into it at first, but it did get better after a couple minutes.
Well, that was very long and uninteresting.
Maybe a little melodramatic, but quite pretty.
I had zero expectations going into this one, given the other songs I’ve heard from this band. It wasn’t too bad.
I’m not sure if I enjoyed all of the sounds being melded together here, but the end result sure is hypnotic.
This kinda just felt like background music to me.
I quite enjoyed the vaguely-sinister and doomy mood of this one.
The atmosphere didn’t seem very pronounced on my first listen, and the heavy elements didn’t sound all that great. This better be a grower.
This one blows
I think I liked the first half better than the second, but I definitely enjoyed this one overall.
This sounds fantastic; I love the musical influences and the cosmic vibe here.
After a single listen I have absolutely nothing good nor bad to say about this one.
altar of plagues is pretty good tho the album is basically just, that song four times which... i dunno i'm not fully satisfied with it :lol
Some good stuff this round.
---ROUND 3 FIRST IMPRESSIONS---Me, too ;)
I think I liked the first half better than the second, but I definitely enjoyed this one overall.
Very pretty, but maybe a bit too minimalistic.

---ROUND 3 FIRST IMPRESSIONS---
This kinda just felt like background music to me.
After a single listen I have absolutely nothing good nor bad to say about this one.
Yann Tiersen. Don't know the song. He scored Amelie which is one of my favorite movies.
Don't want to use your "Drop Cyril to Last Place" perk or your "Win The Roulette Automatically" perk?
does the order only matter for the individual songs compared with previous submissions.
Congrats on the round win, Dacul :lolYou and me both. Considering what we both sent, I don't think Buddy likes atmospheric black metal very much... :(
I'm on a downward sliiiiiide

Congrats on the round win, Dacul :lolDamn I'm on fire :metal
Awe damn. Thanks for having me.
i am not super surprised but also i guess i'm just gonna avoid the ABM altogether from now on, yeah :lol
I have sent what is likely my last song of this roulette.[FIRST PLACE]
puppies sent this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aU95acFiXM)maybe :splodetard:

Train - Drops Of Jupiter[/b]
First Impressions: I had zero expectations going into this one, given the other songs I’ve heard from this band. It wasn’t too bad.
Having heard and actively disliked a couple Train songs in the past, I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this one at all. After listening to it a handful of times I can safely say that I enjoyed it… more than I thought I would, but still not very much. I don’t have any complaints about the vocal melodies, but this guy’s voice still rubs me the wrong way. He’s nowhere near as annoying as he is in say, Hey Soul Sister, but I still don’t really like listening to him. The heavy use of strings in this song is kinda nice, but they do cause it to sound incredibly over-dramatic. The sound as a whole is just a bit too saccharine for me; like a lot of poppier songs like this, it’s immediately gratifying, but starts to make you feel a bit sick after repeated exposure. I don’t think this song flat-out bad, but it’s definitely starting to get annoying and I probably won’t ever listen to it again out of choice. Also, what’s with the “fried chicken” line? Were they really that desperate to rhyme something with “stickin’”?
That was weird. I think I liked it? I definitely liked the last half of it.
I was unsure about this at first, but I have a feeling it will win me over. Reminded me of Ulver in a handful of places.
Oof, that ending dropped the ball hard. It was going so well, too.
This is another one that will need more listens for me to figure out if I like it or not.
There’s a lot of stuff going on here, even though the song’s pretty simple structure-wise. Very interesting mood.
Round 4 First Impressions
That was weird. I think I liked it? I definitely liked the last half of it.
Something about the aesthetic feels pretty dry to me, but I like the progression in the second half.
Lots of good riffs here. I like me some good riffs.
Brootal Mountain
Round 4 First Impressions
Straightforward song, with some nice sounding vocals and instrumentation.
Not very unique-sounding, but nice enough.

This meanders a lot, but I like the sound. It’s kinda like if Between The Buried And Me had a better vocalist.

looking at the rest of the songs here i am pretty sure which one is mine, now.
unfortunately it doesn't fill me with enough confidence to want to use my perk, i think :lol
Cyril: _ar___ - _ra___ng _la__ ___n
Show me O. Hangman slackers!hey i did a lot of the work already, i ain't solving my own hangmanen :P
results when?
its Crashing Black Moon, arguably the least consistent song in Parius’ latest album :cornthe only great one*
I think Dacul has this roulette won by default, that's double points on a likely top 3 song of the round :P
Fark yeah! Arcturus ftw.
Dayum... I picked the wrong round to use my double points.

I'm at the bar waiting for you.
Juice bar I hope.
Well bummer. :(he pretty much has a free pass to the finals, so i hope he drops the ball there :corn
Sacul is running away with this.
I'm just convinced all the people running roulette's right now have terrible taste in music :neverusethis:
Alright, you seriously need to stop doing so well. I’m glad I made it so that prior score doesn’t matter in the final round, otherwise you might have already won with half of the roulette remaining. :lol You seem to have my tastes nailed down to a T, even outside of rock and metal, as the quality of this song suggests.
Sacul. You need to bet on something. You are on a roll!
Well bummer. :(he pretty much has a free pass to the finals, so i hope he drops the ball there :corn

Ages? You won mine last year! :lolAnd how many have I lost since then? :lol
Are you sure you haven't programmed some experimental algorithm that analyzes my musical tastes and produces the single most optimal song to send? Except it takes a while to run and that's why it usually takes you a few days to send? That's why I'm leading on tomislav's roulette as well :neverusethis: :sadpanda:. But such and algorithm wouldn't be much different than last.fm or Spotify's recommendations. Might be an interesting thesis project though mnnnn

that album is incredibly a 6/10But such and algorithm wouldn't be much different than last.fm or Spotify's recommendations. Might be an interesting thesis project though mnnnn
I have all of the submissions for the roulette in a single Spotify playlist, and whenever the playlist ends and it automatically takes me to a "similar" song, like 80% of the time it gives me this same damn album and I have no idea why

Agreed. Their The Martyrdom of a Catastrophist album is like 10 times better.....ok maybe not that good, but it is great! :tupthat album is incredibly a 6/10But such and algorithm wouldn't be much different than last.fm or Spotify's recommendations. Arcturus - For To End Yet Again
First Impressions: That was weird. I think I liked it? I definitely liked the last half of it.
This is much more up my alley compared to the stuff you’ve been sending up to this point. It’s got a weird, avant-garde metal sound with some unconventional instrumentation, and that’s almost always a plus in my book. The synths are often unorthodox, and the trumpets that come in towards the end are a great touch. Structure wise, the song has a heavier beginning and end, with an ambient section in the middle linking them together. This middle section is the only part I’m torn on; it does a good job at linking the beginning and the end together, but the first part with the piano definitely goes on for a bit too long. That said, I really like when it suddenly gets a lot darker sounding, then explodes back into the full band shortly afterwards. And the finale of this track is just fantastic; I’d say the build-up to it is largely worth it. I love how climactic it sounds, and that crazy keyboard solo at the end is just awesome. The ending is a bit abrupt, but that’s alright. I liked this one a lot.
Hey Buuuuuddy :neverusethis: do I get bonus points for NOT having to resend, 'cause I'm just that good? :lol
Hey Buuuuuddy :neverusethis: do I get bonus points for NOT having to resend, 'cause I'm just that good? :lol
No, but you get an accolade for the biggest gap in quality between the two songs sent thus far ;)
This definitely seems like the kind of metal I like. The calmer section was really nice, too.
I actually found the cleaner parts of this song to be the most captivating.
oh, Dacul sent Talk Talk
I think the song title left more of an impression on me than the song itself.
I liked the warm, comforting atmosphere at the start, but the song seemed to abandon that as it progressed.
Between this and your other song, I can’t say I’m really into this band’s sound.
but buddy could be like ruba and hate bent knee so maybe someone other than dacul can win this round yet :P
This is very 90s-sounding, and not really in a good way.
This had the energy that I was left wanting from the other song.
Wow, this took a while even for me.
Lauri Porra
Acually I guess mewithoutYou is post-hardcore, not post-punkPost-Punk (https://rateyourmusic.com/genre/Post-Punk/)
Is there even a difference
i've actually already said the latter half of that hint in-thread :P
If you can put me in the former group, that'd be great. :tup

The updated participant rankings tomorrow should make the split pretty clear. :corn
Also, "roughly the same quality" could mean I didn't particularly like either of them.
i sent the rest of my roulette entries so i don't have to think about this one anymore
i'm probably gonna get cut after round 7 tho grats nekov

Buddyboy... as I start to map out the next round, is 20 minute a maximum limit, or were you just offering a range.

The original plan was to have 20 minutes and 59 seconds as a hard limit, but I've been considering raising it to 23 minutes and 59 seconds.
If there's anyone else that wants to send a song slightly longer than 20 minutes, let me know so I can factor that in.
just based on the fact that we both still have double points i really doubt you'll be eliminated at the next cut :Pi sent the rest of my roulette entries so i don't have to think about this one anymore

Are you kidding me? I'll be lucky if I get past the next round :lol
24 hour warning to use perks for Round 5.:corn :corn :corn
this ranking system doesn't really seem to scale well with eliminations like this, it's basically impossible for anyone to make up lost ground since there's only a 6 point difference between scoring first and last in a round now. shrug.
Remember when I said Kattleox had the biggest gap in quality between the two songs? Well, congratulations Ruba. :lol
I knew immediately that you would love Dislocated based on the winner from the previous round
also a stat i really want once all the songs are in, the average length of the songs sent :corn
I knew immediately that you would love Dislocated based on the winner from the previous round
I'm not really seeing the connection between Dislocated and Risingson. Or Dislocated and your Arcturus song, if that's what you meant. :lol
i also just generally have a good grasp on what kind of metal you like at this point (see: my remaining submissions which all slot into a different part of what i understand that you like)
i think there's a difference between "epic" (the sound) and "epic" (the length)
or "epic" the song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EO6JN3LLTz8) :P
Ruba, Ruba. You can send your paltry 7 minute epic if you want, 'cause I have the round winner already picked out. :hat
Also, I'm not too happy that you have a minimum length for "epic" songs. One of my favourite songs on my roulette's epic round was shorter than six minutes. Also, seneca said that my submission on his roulette's round two was the most epic while being shorter then seven minutes.
you can literally just randomly pick a song off that album btw all four of the main songs are basically the same :neverusethis:Perhaps to the untrained ear. :corn
Mathematically, there's only one way for me to move on - I have to finish 1st or 2nd, Cyril and Sacul have to take the two other top 3 spots. Then, Ruba 4th, Tomi 5th, and Nekov (assuming he uses his double points) and Katt finishing in the bottom 2 spots.I sure hope you make it to the finals.

Do you just want Kattleox to bomb this round because he made you lose four points? :P
i'm guessing more than one person tried to send it? :lol
who we waiting on, besides dacul?
ahh, and he was one of the peeps who sent FW presumably, makes sense
:rollinNah it's clearly Flame Toaster - The Bagel and Bread of Narnia
give me the Fates Warning - The Light and Shade of Things
The quantity was certainly here, but I don’t know about the quality. For how long this song is, the music feels pretty basic.any of these could vaguely be mine i guess :metal
Despite being one of the shortest songs this round, this might have been the hardest to sit through.
A wide variety of different ideas and influences, packed into a single sprawling epic that was… interesting, but probably not something that will end up doing too well.
There were parts of this I liked, but it might be a bit too slow-paced for me.
This was a risky move, my friend. This reminds me a lot of Transatlantic, and also reminds me why I never had any interest in getting into them.IQ (or maybe Mike Oldfield, I'm not sure)
Wilderun (100% on this one)
This style of metal often comes across as cheesy and lacking in substance to me, but thankfully, the songwriting here seemed to be good enough that it didn’t feel that way.

Wilderun - Ash Memory :metal
one i considered but did not send. Ruba?
oh IQ is jingle most likely. like maybe Katt or Nekov sent that but jingle seems most obvious
why didn't you send the last song on the album then that one's better

i mean the last song on disc one
Yeah, after FW was disallowed it was either that or some stoner metal. :lol

uhh give me A
Oh, and the average time of all the songs this round was 15 minutes and 5.29 seconds. Congratulations to the one person who guessed 14-15 minutes, whoever you are. :laugh:Bonus points? :P
BTW I'd like to use my remaining perk.
BTW I'd like to use my remaining perk.
Me too.
I will say that I ended up liking one of the songs much more than the first impression would lead you to believe... but you'll just have to wait to figure out which one it was :biggrin:Dacul's, who is getting first place again
(slightly more than) 24 hours for you to use a perk this round. The recorning of buddyhunter
Honestly based on past submissions I think any of me, Dacul, Katt, and Nekov could be in pretty much any order. I'm between a song that got high results and middling results but I'm versus Dacul's worst (out of a ridiculously strong run so it could still rank high), low for Nekov (who has been the third most consistent but just hasn't used double points yet) and middling for Katt, the most middling participant left.
Basically whoever is last of us four is the one who gets screwed out of 2 points by Tomi :corn (or 4 if it's Nekov)
btw how do you plan to score next round? With the current 2 point system it'd go back to only 8 points between 1st and 5th.
A 3 point system of 14-11-8-5-2 could work tho?
Will prob send something odd just to test the water.
I agree with Katt... I think Road of Bones would be right up your alley.
Well, hindsight being what it is ... missed it by *that* much. Shoulda used my double points with Alithia. Nice to see I made a go of it, and dammit Diego, why couldn't you have sent a worse song this round!! :lol
Have fun, ya'll. I'm rooting for Katt.
Welp, unless I somehow finally figure out what kind of music you like, this is the end for me. I'm honestly surprised I made it this far. Will send something later today

Exactly how I feel. I think I got a grip on Buddy's taste with my Lauri Porra track, but otherwise, not quite hitting the mark.
here's the secret to buddy's tastes:
send metal that's pretty heavy but also has something slightly weird or unique about it
still waiting on dacul? :cornNot anymore
I'll take that last impression, thank you very much.
Oops, new page.haha i laugh at you fools and your 35-post pages
That's an awesome song, from an awesome album. :metal

yup i matched up all the impressions correctly then, i think :corn
at the very least nothing else seems like it could be the impression i matched to my song
@buddy: How long do we have to suffer?
maybe i should've saved this album for the last round instead then, damn :lol
to be fair cellar is about the best track off it though
buddy told me who's making it through to the finals and i don't think anyone will be expecting this result :corn
damn it all
listen to mine again until it ranks higher
I'm listening to that Warforged song now. This is very noisy Cyril :(oh yeah no you'd despise this album

you'd also despite the album i sent for this round. that's kind of a trend of all the stuff i've sent buddy this roulette tho, tbh

I just sent mine. Not sure if it's your cup of tea (I don't think it is) but I went with my gut. I've never won a roulette and I'm not expecting to this time, but it's a strong contender imo. Now we wait 4 days for Sacul. :neverusethis:

Now that I know Kat sent Ghost Mile, can I take my vote back? :lol
Anyways give me M
guessing a letter not in my titleAnyways give me M
What exactly were you hoping to accomplish there? :lol
Judging by the last several roulettes I have joined, I'm starting to wonder if any of you actually enjoy music.... :lol Perhaps I'm too easy to please when it comes to my own roulettes :)
i am super hard to impress but i will stan hard for the stuff that impresses me
like i have a link in my sig but i put together a list of my favorite stuff from last year and like almost all of them i'd consider 4.5* (9/10) albums (though no 10/10's - which, for the record, I have bumped Folie up to recently :corn)

on the other hand, i could save for v5 :corn
Odd because Voyager's got a totally unique, original sound that drew me to them whereas a lot of prog is like 'okay we get it you like Tool or Dream Theater or Yes' :lol
Chiming in, just 'cuz... I dunno, I like Voyager. :)
I think Voyager is a pretty original band, but they're also a band that's evolved and incorporated different things into their sound over time. There is a lot of Tesseract influence in Ghost Mile, but, if it makes a difference or not... I don't *at all* think it's a case where they were new musicians who heard Tesseract and decide they just had to sound like them. It's more a case of their sound evolving over time and new things that they like rubbing off on them. If you listen to their catalog (which started before Tesseract came on the scene) in order, it just seems like a natural progression.
conkattulations!Should have sent On Strange Loops :corn
i voted right, at least :hat
anyways i guess i should've just saved warforged for this round because with how much you liked cellar i'm pretty sure you'd like the whole thing but anyways :metal
I like Voyager, but Ghost Mile is merely OK. :|
i don't get voyager :P
Katt, you should check out the latest VOLA album if you haven't already. Ghost Mile definitely reminded me of that in a lot of places.
Oh, and if you want top-tier poppy djent, listen to Destiny Potato - Lun. Yes, that's the actual name of the band. I think they're changing it for their next album. :lol
Yeah I wasn't very confident in what I sent, but couldn't think of something else at the time. Would you mind if I send you some bonus albums? :P
