I'm sure it didn't cost him anything, since I believe he was sponsored by Yamaha at the time.

It depends on the deal. Endorsees (is that a real word?) don't always get free stuff and I doubt Myung was at that kind of profile level where he could regularly get free gear especially expensive custom shop stuff. I doubt he even gets his Ernie Ball stuff for free. Still, it's possible the Yamaha could've been a gift from the company.

Ack!!! So tempted... one of those impulse buys I’m trying to teach myself NOT to act on these days, lol. And I’ve been really disciplined these past couple of years. :)

No way at the Buy It Now price of $15K though...

Not that anyone here is expressing any doubt, but just in case, I can confirm that that is in fact one of JM's bass guitars, even though it is being sold by a third party vendor (the band auctioned it off quite some time ago).
