I’m trying not too read too much about the new shows, because I’ll be going to the Hard Rick Orlando
Show ...but a friend told me that MM’s new kit only has one bass drum . This i’d like to know ...
Any news about the new kit ?
Thanks !

Your arm would hirt just looking at the china cymbals.

Indeed one bass drum, quite unexpected.

Yes, but, just to clarify, he's using double pedal in this only bass drum.
It's in a beautiful green and all the cymbals seems to be really close to the moon :lol
-
He has another bass drum but it's located above the cymbals so we can't see it.

New kit looks amazing! Hope we can get a better look at it from behind.

Keith Moon?

Apparently he has shy feet. He's got these got these little curtains below the floor toms hiding everything going on down there!

The high cymbals in MM's new kit is really a throwback to how he set up his kit when he was starting.

Man, off topic, but I’d give my left pinkie to have Townsend and Vai get together for one more album, now that they’re older and more mature, and without all the early 90s trappings.
Anyways, feel like I saw more of the high cymbals back in the 80s early 90s...Nick Menza used to play them pretty high back in the day.

As a drummer, I'm interested to see how the double kick pedal is set up. If you notice that his bass drum is set up in the middle, not offset like the usual bass drum would be in a double pedal set up.
I think he has his double pedal set up like this https://goo.gl/images/TrCSCW (https://goo.gl/images/TrCSCW) and maybe done with a pearl pedal that is customized.
The curtains hiding the bottom of the kit are probably there to hide mic cables and remote hi-hat cables for a cleaner look.
He looks to have large floor toms and bass drums for floor toms along with a gong bass drum. A little more low end.
People have been critical of the cymbal height. If that's how he likes it then so be it.

They're so high up that from up there the concert hall is just a pale blue dot.

I believe MM posted that he'll do some videos and such about the new kit as he gets a few more shows under his belt on tour.

He posted this the other day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKl5GGDR2Ek
He wrote on the youtube description:
(So Sorry this is blurry!!) We just started the tour..I'll get some sleep and get these right next time.) A quick snippet NOT filmed from the front with the brilliantly crisp and clear sound of our engineer ACE.. but behind and RAW so you can hear the HUGENESS of my new invention, the GONG floor toms w/Clear Emp REMO heads and blasted with my Wicked Piston.

Man, I'd love to see a detailed rig tour for each guy on this tour, I love videos like that.
