Vote for which grouping you like best.
I had to go with Option 3. I love both Steppin' Out and Don't Dream It's Over, and High on You is really nice as well.
-
#1 all the way!
Hungry Like the Wolf (Duran Duran), One Thing Leads to Another (The Fixx) & Your Love (The Outfiield)
-
#4
Easy choice.

Somehow, I knew you'd pick the option with the Fixx. ;)

Lots of junk in this poll...

Category 3. I don't know the Survivor song, but the other two are the two best songs on the list.

4, maybe.

Much easier choice than Part I.
-
It was between 4 and 5. I went with 5.
White Wedding (Billy Idol), Sharp Dressed Man (ZZ Top) & Invisible Touch (Genesis)
EDIT: The One With Phoebe's Wedding is on my TV right now.

I see what you did there. :P

Have you really been doing this for a decade?
-
Kev has started so many threads. Yes he has.
-
The goal is always to generate discussion. The polls are a plot device. ;)
In this case, for example, the discussion should inevitably tilt towards discussing the greatness of Invisible Touch.
-
Man I know I rag on Genesis all the time here, but I could easily think of 20+ songs of theirs I like more than Invisible Touch.
-
I couldn’t think of 10 songs total.
-
I couldnt think of 10 songs total.
Well, yeah, I couldn't name more than 3 from the Gabriel era. I could name many more from the post-Gabriel era, but they got a ton of play on radio/MTV in the 80s. And I was, let's say, less discerning of the music I listened to back then, especially if it had a cool video (Land of Confusion). I could in good faith say I would enjoy at least a few popular 80s Genesis songs if I had to listen to them right now. Invisible Touch would be at the top (bottom?) of my most disliked songs from popular 80s Genesis.
-
I make no apologies: I LOVE the album Invisible Touch, with the possible exception of Land Of Confusion, and even that is primarily because of the stupid fucking puppet video (sorry, Chris; I didn't read your post until after I posted this). I'd put "Domino" up against any of the epics from the Gabriel era (except maybe Cinema Show) or the Four-man era (except maybe One For The Vine).

That you like more than Invisible Touch?? I knew it.
-
By the way, I'm at "Duran Duran" on my CD-burning odyssey, and I was reminded how good the guitars are on Rio (the album). Andy Taylor never overplays, but man is he spot on when he does, especially those legato lines in the title track. That's a damn good record.
-
I think you guys were the ones that recommended to me some of the deep cuts from Rio. Last Chance on the Stairway is one that really stuck out. And of course, Save a Prayer is money.

10 year old me LOVED that video!

Two great songs; for me, "Lonely In Your Nightmare".
