I honestly personally think that in this batch of songs, Deathless should have finished in the top 5 at least, but personal opinions mean nothing when almost a third of the votes were for this song in this survivor format. I can also understand why one would not like it; it's quite a bit different from their other songs, but that's part of what makes it so good to me. It's nothing new though; looking at previous year's results show that Deathless is always one of the first to go in the Finals. Ah, well. Another day, another round. Let's go!

Ice Ice Baby 2
-
Well this survivor just went downhill quickly. I'm just going to keep voting Atlas Stone since it really doesnt even belong anywhere near Deathless or even Earthrise.
-
Deathless is overrated
So is Visions v3

The Endless Knot

Crystallised

Still Aquarium.

Crystallised
Don't do this to me that's their best epic man.

More like their worst epic*, but okay.
* is Veil considered an epic? Because if it is, then that's the worst.
-
veil is better by virtue of not being twice as long as it needs to be
-
Veil has that jarring transition I can't get over.
-
The Architect has that as well. Overall I prefer Veil.

The Architect has that as well.
Where?

The Architect has that as well.
Where?
Right in the middle of the song?
-
If that's what he's talking about I definitely disagree. It makes sense to transition into a very different section after the second chorus, and while it's a pretty hard transition, I wouldn't call it jarring or out of nowhere.
-
Maybe it feels more jarring because I find that section pretty meh. Like an inferior version of FBTE.

I wouldn't say it's jarring, but agree with the FBTE comparison.
I've gotten used to the transition in Veil, but I listened to Vector a lot of times in the last few weeks. The transition is a bit abrupt, but I love that calm section that comes after it.

It's a shame because I like Architect's first part way more than FBTE, but then it just goes meh after the transition while FBTE hits it's highest point.

They've basically tried to remake FBTE on each album since the mountain lol

And it's not even a top 5 song :neverusethis:
-
Jake we know you're a bad takes machine you don't need to keep repeating it
-
I hope they add The Architect to their current setlist so I'll be able to see them play FBTE three times during one evening :neverusethis:
Veil actually feels a bit different from FBTE for me, the calm section has a different vibe I guess. The Architect is definitely similar in my book, though.
-
you're a bad takes machine
what does that even mean :lol

Personally I prefer The Architect to FBTE, Veil, or any of their other epics really. Sure, a lot of their longer songs have done the "quiet section in the middle followed by a big buildup" thing, but that section in The Architect at least has a very different vibe to it. And the part with the Leprous vocalist is great, though I can see how it'd be a bit much for some listeners who don't like those kinds of vocals.
EDIT:

Heh, it's the other way around for me.

They've had a song like that on every album apart from Visions. My ranking of those songs would go:
1. Falling Back to Earth
2. Drowning in the Flood
3. Veil
4. The Architect
-
same @ ariich's ranking tbh

I’ll get round 4 up sometime today during work. Couldn’t do it last night, because I was away from home.
