Both coming this April. Both massively hyped and anticipated, both represent the end of an era - although both will continue in the form - a Spin-off for GOT and the next phase for Marvel. One will be the geek TV event of the year, the other will be the geek cinematic event of the year.......
So here's the question. If you can only watch one, which one do you go with?

Avengers, no question. I have zero interest in Game of Thrones. But it is odd to compare a 3-hour film with a tv series that is several times longer than that in content.

Don't have HBO Canada... never watched a single moment of GoT.
Have watched every MCU movie at least 2x; Infinity War I think is at 7 (watched the director's commentary over the xmas break).
You can figure it out.

Infinity War is probably my favorite MCU film. But the odd thing is, I have watched it less than most of the other films, and I never really feel a strong desire to revisit it. I don't know why. Not sure how to reconcile that.

It's tough. I really want to see them both.
GoT has gotten progressively less interesting to me and has transformed to a very sophisticated show about relationships and politics to a show about "HOLY CRAP THAT DRAGON JUST BURNED THAT WHOLE ARMY" kind of thing. It's very very cool, but not much more than that anymore. We all just want to see the twists and turns and cool fights. So I do want to see how it ends, but I'm not terribly invested in any of them anymore.
Avengers, I'm a die hard Marvel fan (though quite fair to them and not a fan-boy) so I definitely am much more invested in Endgame. That said, I read Marvel comics every day. So it's not like I'll ever be removed from that world.
Dunno. Still going Avengers though.

Going Game of Thrones though to be honest I'm more excited for the new Star Wars in December.
I'm pretty sure I can guess how Endgame is going to unfold. I have no idea how Game of Thrones is going to end.

Game of Thrones by a million light years. IW was such a copout. Endgame is pretty predictable even without the comics as direct reference.
Game of Thrones is the greatest show/movie/whatever that I have ever seen. And no one knows for sure what is going to happen. Can't wait!

I watched some of the marvel movies when they started making them and becoming popular and I already felt that way, its like watching the same movie just with a different super hero. I actually never watched any of the avengers or newer ones, figured they must be better since people seem to love them, but I just have no interest really.

I agree it's an odd comparison (2+ hour movie versus 6 episode season of a TV show where each episode might be in the 2 hour range), but for me it's Game of Thrones and it's not.
And it's not because I LOVE LOVE LOVE Game of Thrones (I like it fine, but I'm not a fanatic). Rather, it's because all of the superhero movies of the last 10+ years started boring the crap out of me at least 3-4 years ago. I looked at the Wikipedia list of Marvel movies (starting with the first Iron Man in 2008). I think I saw all of the "Phase One" movies except for The Incredible Hulk, and I think I saw all of the "Phase Two" movies except for Thor: The Dark World (not sure about Captain America: The Winter Soldier). I actually enjoyed Ant Man, but at that point I was basically done, and pretty much none of them were tolerable after the first iteration. I saw Black Panther at home on demand and thought it was ridiculously overrated. And the recent DC movies (starting with Batman Begins) are generally all even worse, although I haven't seen as many of them.

Ah, yeah, GoT for me, easily. Best show on TV, and best thing is we really don't know how it's going to end.
There's way too many Superhero movies out there, very hard to keep track, they over saturated us with them. Though most of the ones I seen lately including one of the Avengers Movies was decent

Avengers for me!
I have seen most of the marvel movies in theater since Iron Man 1, and Endgame feels like a end of an era.
I have watched some random episodes of GOT, and they were very good, Still i would have to watch the entire show in order to get invested in the final season. And there are more interesting shows already out there, and some that are in production right now.

I'm a recent MARVEL watcher as my kids really got in to the movies so i jumped on board with them. I dig them all and the story they're all telling and am looking forward to both Captain Marvel and Endgame.
BUT....the GOT final season just has me more intrigued due to the fact that there's no real way to 'guess' what's going to happen. Lot's of theories and possible outcomes wheras the Marvel movies there's pretty much only a couple directions they can go....it's just not as 'mysterious' to me right now as what can/will happen in GOT.

Endgame for me. GoT while s8 has been enjoyable so far has the worst stuff left (BIG BATTLES) imo which was always a lowpoint of the series for me. Always loved the character driven episodes a lot more.

Avengers for me. GOT is awesome, but I had never even heard of it before about 10 years ago.
The Marvel superheroes have been a constant in my life for literally as long as I can remember. My entire life in pop culture has been leading up to this film.

Endgame for me. GOT is great, but the quality has been extremely variable and slightly in decline (although I enjoy it hugely) whereas the MCU has been incredibly consistent and really is on a high right now.

Having now seen Season 8 of GOT and still having not seen Avengers, I'd like to change my vote to Avengers.

Avengers because, if I had to guess, Endgame is probably going to end on a slightly more positive note and leave me feeling more warm and fuzzy inside.

Kev, I'm sorry for coming off so mean in that post. I do genuinely think you're missing out. For example my old man couldn't care less about superheroes yet loves The Dark Knight and especially Heath Ledger in that, so it's not just for people who want to see guys in spandex doing flips :lol

How about this for a twist....
EVERYONE dies at Winterfell. Everyone who is there.
That way the last 3 episodes force the audience to side with Cersei as the main protagonist.

This is me. I saw ‘Endgame’ last night. REALLY good movie. But, I’m more invested in the GOT. Ha Rackers than I was the Marvel ones.
Even without seeing it yet I’m predicting I’ll enjoy the Battle of Winterfell more than the Endgame battle as I like the ‘grit’ of the GOT Battle scenes more than The CGI heavy Endgame feel. But that Endgame battle was awesome.

My prediction remains true and it just has to do with I'm more investing in the GOT characters than I am any of the Marvel ones. And, I prefer watching the GOT style of battle over the Marvel universe style of battle. As I said...I like the 'grit' of 'real' battles over the CGI feel.....

We'll see how the last three episodes are.

Endgame without question. Started weak, but ended amazingly. Perfectly satisfying conclusion.
GoT started really tense and then well...”Jumped” the shark, for me, so to speak.

Same with me. Endgame was good but didn’t quite live up to the hype, IMO. Not as powerful or as intense as last nights GoT episode.

Endgame won this duel without a shadow of a doubt. Obviously GoT has more to come, but Battle of Winterfell fall short of my expectation, whereas Endgame was a real surprise in terms of where the story went, and it was awesome.

Having now watched Endgame, the only answer to this is Endgame.

I think now enough time has passed to digest this properly - and Endgame won easily. While Endgame isn't my favorite MCU film, it happily sits in the top five and brought a hugely satisfying conclusion to the Infinity Stones arc. It also managed that rare thing of being surprising, I didn't see many people predicting how the film would play out before release.
GoT Season 8 - well there has been enough written about it (and I suspect will continue being written about for years). The best thing I can say is it did wrap things up in a semi satisfying (if wholly uninspired) way. However the execution was baffling inept and to say it felt rushed would be an understatement.

Still with GOT. For as much grief as it got and me even agreeing with a small portion of them, I enjoyed the ending of that series.
Endgame IMO wasn't as good as Infinity War. Infinity War was far and away 'better' in my eyes as Endgame seemed a bit long and drawn out and a little over the top at some points. It was pretty good....and satisfying....but for me it was a bit gluttonous.

GOT hands down, warts (S8) and all. I still enjoyed the acting and the visuals in spite of the botched writing / editing already extensively covered in several threads.

Yes, maybe the movie was a bit too long in some spots, but what a satisfying conclusion to the Saga. I could not say the same for S8 GoT. So many questionable decisions made in that season.

One big reason I put Endgame over Infinity War is because that first big Wanda/Vision scene is just sooo freaking dull. They ruined the Cap reveal in all the commercials and trailers and that should've been the biggest moment of that whole scene, but it was ruined - ROONED! - well before the movie came out. And Wanda/Vision as a couple just does nothing for me, I don't believe anything about their relationship and Vision is just a cornball character (although his doubledeath freaked me out and I thought was awesome).
