No, I named two separate things:

1. At Wit's End was the first thing they wrote

2. Among the songs they had written, they don't know how they will order the songs, but they know what the closer will be

I think it will be the opener the way they talked about it.  Just a guess though.

Yeah it makes sense, as it's the first fresh thing they came up with.

Keep in mind though that In the Name of God was the first song they wrote for Train of Thought

Mastering shouldn't take too long, but I think it's more likely we'll have the single next month.

The interview released today confirmed that At Wit's End was the first song written, so Song 10 wouldn't make sense.

Plus, hot-wire instrumental interplay can describe maybe 90% of all of DT's songs

Perhaps it will be the song 10 on the record even if it was written first  ;)

The '18 days of writing' makes me wonder: did they write everyday, including weekends, from June 11 to June 28 (the day of the Facebook Q&A? Or did they skip weekends and a few other days, until July 10 (the date of the burgers video/pic announcing the end of writing)?

I assume that they were the days of actual writing, not including therefore weekends, days off, and time spent on burgers.

I could be wrong, but I thought I heard/read somewhere that they still were going home on weekends. So I would guess July 10.

I'm really looking forward to this album and hoping it brings me back closer to the band as I've drifted away with the last few albums.

That's Roie Avin, who runs the excellent Prog Report site with connected podcast, and who wrote this great book about modern prog: https://progreport.com/product/essential-modern-progressive-rock-albums/. He is also a frequent contributer to the Prog magazine, and works with InsideOut a lot.

I believe he is John Petrucci's father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.

James was also a very nice and cool guy. (not that this has anything to do with the topic but I wanted to add it)

Wikipedia says 180 is above average everywhere but ex-Viking areas, parts of the Baltics, parts of the Balkan peninsula and a few Germanic countries, and when you consider that men like to lie about their height and always add a few cm, that's not average at all

For guys that are so technically savvy and intense about their gear and their craft, their videos really seem to be produced by noobs, and it's always been this way.

They try, sure, but when I look back there always seems to be issues, even with major releases like home videos (SFaM layer-switch glitch) and CDs (JP's "Curve" track splite) or just general delays in production due to "issues" (Luna Park), but it's definitely whenever they try and do web-ish videos that they blow it.

The audio is usually bad and I most point to that whole thing that JP and JR did about writing parts of The Astonishing where they sound like they're doing the videos in a bathtub.

Agreed... why not producing and cutting the interviews like they did the interviews in the drummers documentation? The black/white ones? Those looked cool. I bet a thumbnail with an image like that would be clicked on more on YouTube, compared to a video of the whole band filmed in front of windows (who films towards light anyway???). AND we could hear those 6 words JMX said!  ;)
