Wouldn't we have had to have met him to know? I'm not sure it's legit to say "he's an ass" from second- and third-hand information.
A lot of people seem to think Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons are asses, too, but I've met both of them twice, and both times they were everything you would wish your heroes to be. Especially Gene.

I met Lars once (and for some reason I think maybe twice). He was perfectly nice, and none of the media stuff on which most folks base their opinions makes me change mine.

No. Been looking at some of his interviews with other musicians lately on youtube (they're great!) and he comes off as kind of a chill dude.

Nah, he's not. He is a rock star, so there's that. But I feel like he gets a bad rap for being the guy who was willing to stand up to Napster - seems pretty reasonable he didn't want people stealing his music, so he's good in my book.
