I haven't bought a new pair of speakers in a very very long time so I have no idea what is good now. I'm willing to spend $150, maybe $200 absolute max...
My last pair crapped out a couple years ago so literally anything is an improvement now. I don't care if it's 2 speakers or 5 as long as it delivers clarity and power. I'm tired of headphones. My last set was a 5.1 but honestly can't remember the brand at this point.
Aesthetics matter a little too. I've seen some ridiculously ugly speakers...
Also mods sorry if this is more appropriate for the general discussion.
