Love this band! Thanks Evermind, for introducing them to me!
-
Such a shame nobody sent them to my roulette, awesome group :metal
-
I love this band! I just found a leaked photo of the cover art of their upcoming album:

It's called "Five Roaming Owls
What are your favourite 70's classic rock songs by them?
-
I love Owlgazer, such a banging track.
-
aahh one of my favorites :heart

Left to right: bass player (who just loves the music they put out), singer, two lead guitarists. Drummer and keyboardist are apparently busy elsewhere.
My favourite track is either Children of the Sky or Owl is the Word—both from the same album, but that's 80s era we're talking.
-
the best part is i really like owls and this thread makes me happy aside from the joke
-
Did you know the band Owl City was named after one of their hit songs in the late 80s? It spawned a new wave and renewed interest in the use of electronic instruments years later. It's a shame they're often excluded from the canon, but SRO were pioneers back in the day.

"Owl is the Word" is the song I had in mind, but that's also a great song! :metal

Now, where have I already heard of an '80s album (1980 actually) with a Children of the something song and as well a Something is the Word song.....
;D
-
their turn towards funk country in the 90s was weird but interesting
-
Truth be told, I'm more of a Thundersword guy myself and didn't get into these guys (other than that one song off the Seis Búhos Itinerantes album that was always on MTV). But I guess I can see the appeal of this kind of thing.
-
Didn't they have a top ten hit with 'O rly'?
-
Anvil, Filth, and the Squat Martian, Whoa! has been getting a lot of attention in recent roulettes, what's your guys' favorite part of the track? I really dig the harmonica symphony breakdown at 8:30, so epic and powerful :metal
-
That's a great moment, but that slow buildup with the sax near the end, damn, gives me chills :metal

Not to mention that buildup takes 14 minutes :2metal:. Considering the song is 69 minutes I guess it's just a drop in the bucket.
-
no one ever mentions that bagpipe solo about halfway through but i love that part a lot too, intense feels
-
What about the blast beat section with the cowbell just before the sax buildup, that's pretty rad.
-
Bump, just heard they're putting out a new album early next year, I'm excited :metal
No new songs yet though
-

Hoo are you pointing that finger at?
-
The guy that made the funny above me.

Heard they're going on tour this fall, try to catch then at a tree near your town!
For some reason their tour path is just going straight down and they aren't coming back north until next year tho. Weird
