Well, here we are at what can pretty much be agreed on as Symphony X's masterpiece. This album took a little bit to grow on me personally. While I did enjoy the title track, The Accolade, Candlelight, & Sins, the rest made me think of it as a very "hit or miss" album. Fast forward about a year & I can honestly say that this probably cracks my top 20 albums of all time, & there isn't really a track on here that I don't care for. In fact, I had to think for a while on which one I could safely eliminate first & after some reflection, I decided to go with the one that - while interesting in theme, doesn't quite get a whole lot more interesting beyond that theme. It's still one killer song, but it doesn't quite reach the magnum opus status that the rest of this album holds so well. Although it was difficult to decide (& for the right reasons), I'll have to go with this.
