I feel like every time an elderly celeb dies, Betty White and Stan Lee consume their soul and get stronger.

At this sad moment I am reminded of the sentiments posted in the Letters section of National Lampoon magazine many years ago.....

Tits are great
Tits are swell
Squeeze a tit
And go to hell

RIP Hef, guy had one hell of a life.  Also, I used to subscribe to Playboy when I was in college and absolutely LOVED reading it.  Seriously, you could have taken the nudes out and I would have still bought it.  Sadly for the Hef, the magazine industry like other print took a hit in the digital age.

You've been on a roll lately. I think that there's something about your people that make you natural comedians.  :lol

Back on topic, Farewell Booby Man!!!

Me too.  Loved the interviews, and absolutely LOVED the Q&A section.  I learned more about dumb shit like wine and stuff from that.  I even won a bet once; I bet my girlfriend that "ejaculation" and "orgasm" were different for men (you could technically have one without the other, though it's not common under ordinary circumstances) and they answered exactly that question.

Plus, as pretty as the girls are/were, that photoshopped, airbrushed look isn't my thing.  The girls in Penthouse were far more attractive to me.  But I digress.

Never cared for Hef's taste in women. Some were better than others, but for the most part he favored fake looking gals with giant bolt-on knockers which just isn't my thing. Moreover, even as an unabashed dirty old man, I thought he really became a really creepy old fuck. His time ended somewhere in the early 80s. However, back in the 60s/70s he really was the king. The Playboy lifestyle he crafted was really something else, and who wouldn't have wanted to party at the mansion (either of them) back when they were really swinging?

I agree, during the 60s and 70s he really was the king of that lifestyle however I just found it a bit sad seeing how he pretty much didn't change during his later years. At the same time the fact that he was Hef until the very end is admiring in it's own way.

RIP Hef

Here's a Rolling Stone write-up on him from 2000 that's a fascinating read. I wasn't aware of the duality going on with his public persona and natural instincts.

This pretty much sums it up, I think:

The one thing he loved wasn't the woman. Its a simple bowl of soup. That's cool.
