Im so sad. I'm a massive Batman fan, and Adam West and the show is such an important piece of the characters history. RIP
-
Oh man :( what a great personality. He will be missed.
This is why cities need a real life bat signal. Tonight would have been perfect.

So..So.. sad to hear about Adam West's passing. I grew up running home from school to watch Batman. The ONLY Batman! There were no Batman movies back then. Rest In Peace Adam. Thanks for being part of my childhood.

I'm bummed. :-[

For anyone who's never seen it, I recommend watching the pilot of Lookwell, a 1991 comedy written by Conan O'Brien and Robert Smigel and starring Adam West. It wasn't picked up, but if it had been created later, it would've fit right in on Adult Swim or Comedy Central.

I just saw the Lego Batman movie the other day. Well, he lived a long life at least, as campy as his Batman was, his name will always be tied in a good light to the Dark Knight.
-
Dude had a great sense of humor about himself. Mayor Adam West was always one of my favorite parts of TFG ever since I saw him brutally murder the Noid.

He will always be Batman to me. There is no other.

I just realized that he's kind of like a less douchey Shatner. Mostly known for an iconic character in the 60's, and then for being himself as a personality.

Yup. I was thinking that earlier, but Adam West figured it out much earlier. It took a while for Shatner to stop taking himself so seriously.
-
That being said, I enjoyed their self deprecating humor.

Oh yea, I love them both. I wish Shatner was as cool with all of it as West was. West figured it out early.
-
Shatner had a strong career still. Adam didn't. So the humor helped.

But even when Shatner started to play the joke, it was still douchey. He - Shatner - was on Stern not long ago, and I still think he thins there's still a Shakesperean performance (or Pavorattian album) waiting to get out at some point. West was what he was (his guest appearances on The Big Bang Theory are awesome).

RIP. He always came across as a good guy.

Huge loss. Adam West, like many, was my first Batman. Although I became a massive Batman fan and collector, and prefer the more serious take on the character that was epitomized with Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, I always had a soft spot for the campy 60s Batman series. I just finished collecting the first run of toys that came out a few years ago depicting the 1960s show.
RIP.

Many of you are too young to know what "phone book" is, but for those of us fogies who do, this is pretty funny. (https://boingboing.net/2017/06/10/how-adam-west-played-a-prank-u.html/amp)

I always thought Adam West was such a cool guy and his voice was totally Batman. He fit the part well. RIP.
