Anyone seen the New King Kong movie with Samuel Jackson? I've seen no reviews in this forum. Excuse me if I missed something..

Yeah I've seen it. Enjoyed it a lot. It's a nice ride.

I saw it too. I thought it was really pretty good. It's not the traditional Kong story and it's one of those "don't need to think too much" types, obviously.

alright action as well but for me at least it was an atrocious waste of a ton of acting talent. I mean it's a King Kong movie so I know the 'story' isn't something that Shakespeare was supposed to write but for me I thought the movie was just 'blah'
But...I took my two oldest kiddos and they LOVED it so...it is what it is.

I have a soft spot for these cheesy King Kong and Godzilla movies. I've enjoyed them all for different reasons. I do need to check out that Toho Godzilla movie that just came out.

I think it'll be a 'fun' watch but yeah....that is SUPER cheesy. The last scene of them running together really was a LOL moment.

Godzilla and Kong running from explosions may be the silliest official godzilla clip I've seen in years.......I am so excited.
I love the goofy godzilla films just as much as the serious ones and I'm happy that this one looks like it's going full Showa era.

Thus far, I have enjoyed all these "recent" western Godzilla/Kong releases. Surprisingly solid/consistent, though Kong 2017 to me is the best with a wide margin.
This weekend I will be seeing minus one. It is apparently very good. I would like to get into non-gc Japanese Godzilla, but the suits and fights just look incredibly bad to me.
