Title: David Hasselhoff appreciation thread
Post by: bosk1 on March 31, 2017, 12:16:05 PM
I just now realized that we do not have an official thread to appreciate The Hoff.  After so many TV and big screen appearances, how can this be?

*appreciates*

I loved Knight Rider & Baywatch.

*appreciates*.

Although he does ride the line between knowing how cheesy he is and playing off it and actually being that cheesy and not aware of it.

No.

Though Knight Rider was my 2nd favorite show as a kid in the 80s.

But still, no.

No way.  He was a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law.

I just hope you repent of your lack of faith before judgment day inevitably arrives.  And the clock is ticking.

Just show him the video of him singing on the Berlin Wall.  It's a religious experience.

Here's an easy one for Bosk.  Without Googling - what does F.L.A.G stand for ( in Knight Rider at least :p ) ?

I remember in a previous job, there was a craze of "Hoffing" people who left their desk without locking their computer screen.

One day, I rushed off to a meeting, and when I came back, some joker had changed my desktop background to this:

David Hasselhoff was the lead for a while in the Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde (he's on the DVD).
Rob Evan was also the lead in the Broadway production of Jekyll & Hyde.
Rob Evan is one of the vocalists who has worked with Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
One of the keyboard players for Trans-Siberian Orchestra is Jane Mangini.
(April Fool!  I cannot find any connection between Jane Mangini and Mike Mangini.  Jane did go to Berklee, so that's a semi-connection.)
Jane Mangini played keyboards on Joe Lynn Turner's album JLT.
Joe Lynn Turner sang "Riders on the Storm" on The Doors tribute album Light My Fire: A Classic Rock Salute to The Doors.
Jordan Rudess played on "Touch Me" on that same album Light My Fire: A Classic Rock Salute to The Doors.
Jordan Rudess plays keyboards for Dream Theater.

:hat Obviously that is the far superior song, but alas the forum's favourite song has to be by the artist the forum is named for.
