earthside was fun too, their keyboardist is a hell of a jokester apparently

Haha no it was actually going to be Falling Apart, that was one of my edgy teen anthems and I still love the song. Was not nearly as much into their punk side but this was a great alternative metal song IMO and had a great chorus.

I don't understand how the classification of djent works to be honest, I never even saw it as a genre. I always thought Periphery was widely disliked because of the over-the-top pop elements mixed with (supposedly) out of place core vocals. Sure, the first album was predominantly djenty, but it is not that big of a factor on any of the later albums.
I guess I have a different definition of 'standard djent' though, because when I think of that, names like Animals As Leaders and Anup Sastry come to mind, and those sound very one dimensional and boring to me the same way other bands do for you.

Really, they don't. Karevik's voice is deeper to the point it's distinctive enough for me, and Kakko's Finnish accent is pretty glaring at times (not in the chorus of Full Moon though).

To sort of honor other 'Snake' contemporaries of the past in wrestling I want something quick strike like Jake "The Snake" Roberts DDT but also to show how the VENOM sets in would go with something like the Cobra Clutch (originally Sgt. Slaughter). So I'll go with this awesome Cobra Clutch Backbreaker (shown by wrestler The Big Show). The quick strike (snake like) of the backbreaker part and then the cinching in of the venom and putting them to sleep with the Cobra Clutch sleeper part at the end. We'll call it the Venom's Bite.

Finally the intro song... It's a great song IMO from -supergroup- Killer Be Killed called "Snakes of Jehovah"... it sets up great with the crashing beginning and will have everyone's hair standing on end knowing that VENOM is coming. A vicious song that ends with the chanting of "MURDER!" It's a -killer- song that just fits perfectly here. Also the girl in the video can be VENOM's valet/manager carrying multiple snakes with her at all times (sort of like in the video). This combination will take down all other competitors! :xbones

I wouldn't say there's a minimum time limit. I mean I'd expect it to be over 8 minutes at least :lol and yes, I'm happy with multiple songs that blend/flow together :tup
I love Visions by Haken and Octavarium, they are probably my two favourite epics and I think that 20-25 minutes is a good length for an epic.

I just noticed an entirely different band that I for some reason figured would be on the banned list, and this is looking to be my most profitable option (though I'm not as optimistic about this round as say, the WWE round :lol). It's not 20 minutes but it's the first song I've encountered among my options that actually has a 'finale', and sounds more like an actual epic than just a really long song.

Regarding Ulver, all of their albums are different (and I really mean different). If you enjoyed Son of Man, which you did, you could check out the rest of the album it came from. Another good place to start is their live album 'The Norwegian National Opera' and see what songs you like on there. Follow them up with whatever record they're from.
My favourite Ulver is Perdition City, followed by Messe I.X-VI.X. But they're all good. Even the three 'black metal' records they started out with. (I don't know why people refer to those as the black metal trio, while Kveldssanger doesn't contain growls or electric guitars whatsoever).

Right now I have 2 draft EP's, the first being more on the atmospheric/emotionally intense side, and the other one being more of a rocker. Knowing you, I'm probably going with the rocker :lol it's still pretty messy though so I'll need some more time.

In regards to scoring these EP's I was planning to score each song out of 10, get a total score, then divide that total score by the amount of songs on the EP, giving an average score out of 10. I'll then times this by 2 and round to the nearest .25, giving a score out of 20. I'll then score the flow out of 5 and add that giving you a potential max score of 25. Does that sound fair? Is everyone happy with their individual songs being scored out of 10 or does anyone want two songs to be scored as one song (like if one song is an intro or outro?). PM me if you do :tup

I would personally have ordered the songs differently though, Compendium being #6 and Voluntary Slavery either #5 or not on the EP at all (don't know, I kinda feel like these two tracks don't fit in the EP as well but they're still awesome songs). The post-metal Hacride might appeal to you more than the more alternative/metalcore side (which is what I sent you). The album "Lazarus" is probably their best and becoming my favourite slowly but surely.
From my roulette entries (don't remember them all off the top of my head) I think the albums you'll like the most are the new Twelve Foot Ninja one (though I personally like Silent Machine more) and Moron Police's "Defenders of the Small Yard, but it's your journey from here on
