It's an honor for Progmaxx Studios and all of us to present you with the first of a series of Full band split screen covers. This was a really gratifying process because we always had Dream Theater fans in mind, Therefore we hope you enjoy this new video experience, since it was made for you. Thanks to all the musicians, family and Friends for making this possible. Without further ado Welcome to The Astonishing!

Mix and accents aside, that was god damn awesome.
I actually got goosebumps at how good it sounded with multiple vocalists, man that really made it sound better. When queen or empress or whatever came in, glorious.
I would actually love to hear the whole album with different singers as the characters. Doubt I will, but it'd be nice.

I am looking at getting into split screen covers myself (nothing serious - more or less for a bit of fun).
Can anyone recommend video editing software for doing this?

Thumbs Up! Indeed, having different vocalists for the different characters really enhanced the listening experience.
But.....darn......I saw the time listed as 8:54, and thought it would end with more of the instrumental, and an 'end', not a fade.

Excellent, if you do the whole album like this with different singers for all the characters including the narrator, I'll pay 20$ for the 320kbps mp3s.

That was great and as others stated, the multiple vocalists made it really good! Special mention to Empress Arabelle's singer, that part was glorious. :tup
The drum sound could be better though but one of the best covers there!

Bit of a nitpick really, but doesn't Nafaryus sing "I will grant the chance..." at the end, not Faythe?
Still, good performance though. :tup

Great cover. Some of the harmony choices didn't quite work for me, but all of the vocalists were great, and I liked the changes in melodies (and octave). Musically I couldn't pick any faults either. An enjoyable watch. :tup

I love the emotion in the face of all three vocalists. It really bring the song to life.

I mean, some are fine. The girls were fine accent wise. The guy threw me off is all. Plus, technically all the characters are American. ;)

You guys did a great job! I LOVE the job James did on the album, and wouldn't trade it for anything... But I would kill a spider for a version with different vocalists for the different characters. I would also pay $ for one, if preferred.

I rarely post but just have to say this was awesome. I was waiting for someone to do a cover with different people playing the parts and it was better than I imagined.

That was really good.
Nefaryus sounded even more Disney-ish with that accent. Could be better but still really good.
It was a nice surprise to hear. Ravenskill and The Astonishing would be cool to hear with multiple voices.

If we are talking about The Astonishing then I would love to see A Life Left Behind. If this is open to the whole catalog then....yes, all of them.
Anyway, great job by everyone. Drum sound needs to be a lot better though. I am listening to it on a shitty laptop but I don't think it is just the fault of these speakers.

A Better Life, Ravenskill, Road to Revolution! You guys are so lucky to be associated with this many talented musicians, especially the vocalists. To be honest I wasn't even expecting vocals when I clicked the link, to see it with multiple singers at this quality is incredible.
I WOULD DEFINATELY PAY TO SEE THE WHOLE ALBUM DONE THIS WAY!!!

Yeah. I mean, it made sense for JLB to sing everything in a DT context; but now that the album exists that way it would be awesome if they put a little more money behind the project and did an alternative version of the album with various singers doing the parts. I would gladly pay for that.

Great job!
And this makes me want a full TA version with multiple singers even more. Such wasted potential on DT's front, as the music really is up there with their best but only Labrie the whole time makes it drag and detracts from the concept (I say this as someone who loves more traditional musicals such as Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Sweeney Todd, Hamilton, the Lion King etc. etc.).

Chego it’s working on a prog opera called Aura, I approached (NM and Eric Guillette) on his behalf to see if NM could laid down some vocals but he was too busy by the moment. And Eric asked some mpney (as we expected) for two guitar solos, he was really enthusiastic about doing it, however the financial situation of my home country was/it’s a problem as even when it is’s not a lot of money for a many people it is a lot to us due to the shrinking economy people there are facing.
At least we tried.
