Title: 1985 - Your favorites of the number 1 hits (VOTE FOR FIVE SONGS)

As mentioned in the first thread, pick your five favorite songs from this year. Two will advance to the 80s finals.

The ultimate goal: to see what DTF's favorite number 1 song of the 1980s is.

Here we have the choices for 1985, and there are many. 10 of these number 1s spent only one week at the top spot.

A View to a Kill - Duran Duran
Don't You (Forget About Me) - Simple Minds
Miami Vice Theme - Jan Hammer

Great year for pop hits.  This was probably my hardest year for cutting potential top 5 songs.

The Miami Vice Theme is interesting because it has quite the Jeff Beckisms going on (which isn't a surprise)
Tears for Fears took me by surprise this year.

A ha - Take on Me was battling for the last spot with Miami Vice.

This was a good year for good hits, could have easiliy chosen ten songs.

Apparently Everybody Wants to Rule the World was #1 on the day I was born! Picked that, Simple Minds, Wham, Dire Straits, and taaaaake oooon meeeeeee (take on me!)
