The first two Iron Maiden albums with Paul Di'Anno were great and will endure as a heavy metal classics. But there's little doubt that the addition of Bruce Dickinson on The Number of the Beast put this album at a higher level than the previous two and firmly cemented Maiden's place in metal history. In addition to fan favorite rockers in the title track and Run to the Hills and quality deep cuts like 22 Acacia Avenue and The Prisoner, The Number of the Beast features one of metal's all-time classic songs in the epic Hallowed Be Thy Name.

First round, I'm going to have to come after the song that shouldn't have made the album. Nothing against it, it's an alright song, but Total Eclipse is better and should have taken its spot on the original release... as Steve Harris himself now believes.
Gangland

Favorite IM album and one of my favorite albums right there.
Would personally not miss any of the original songs, don't care too much for Total Eclipse, I like it, but for me not on TNotB level.
-
Gangland, I much prefer DT's version
-
Favourite IM album for me too.
Total Eclipse
-
Gangland must go first.

Total Eclipse

Aside from Hallowed, I was never the biggest fan of this album. Children of the Damned is pretty great too, and 22 Acacia Avenue isn't bad, but most of the rest is pretty unremarkable.
Went with Gangland.

Run to the Hills

Total Eclipse

Gangland, could have been Total Eclipse as well.

Gangland
Tremendous album, yet it landed at number 10 on my ranking list. Shows what an incredibly strong discography this band has.
-
Gangland. Although I listened to it today and it's not as bad as I remember, it's just not that good.
AAAND, I honestly don't get why people don't like Total Eclipse. have another listen m9.
-
Total Eclipse is brilliant, and something quite different from the band.
