Title: Broadchurch
Post by: Podaar on December 28, 2015, 10:23:52 AM
We binge watched season 2 last night and I was very satisfied with how it turned out. Season one was really good but left too much unexplained. All of that was wrapped up nicely in season two. Well done.

Good to hear.  I thought Season 1 was incredibly well done but soul crushing in many ways.  I still need to catch the second season.

Soul crushing is a great description. Season two isn't any less intense (I was both horrified and moved to tears at different points) but I think it is quite a bit more redemptive as well. Which, frankly, was quite a relief.

Eh, I didn't find that at all with Season 2. It had some good stuff, for sure, but was less gripping and less thought-provoking. The first season was hugely powerful TV.

Interesting...I'll hafta chime in after I watch S2. I'm loving S1 and am about to finish it up today and will probably immediately start S2. Really loving this and it's funny to see Tennent in this role after seeing him as Kilgrave.

We must all remember that I'm not particularly sophisticated. Your "thought-provoking" is likely my "bewildering" so, if season two engages in more handholding for the audience, it's no wonder that I liked it.  :lol

Hopefully, Hef and Tio enjoy it too.

I really love the show, and think both seasons are really excellent television.

So, I finally finished Season 2 this morning.

Wow, that was fantastic.  I found that it held up really well to Season 1, I didn't think there was any letdown or fall-off in quality.

Maybe the best cast in TV.  Such awesome performances of absolutely crushing material.  I can't recommend this show highly enough.

Broadchurch is one of my favourite TV shows. Can't wait for series 3.

Has a third one been announced?

::) The title of this show is so sexist.

Can we instead name it " Strong Independent Female Who Don't Need No Man Church " ?

According to Wikipedia, the official announcement for Series 3 was made on 12 april 2016 by ITV. Filming apparently started in May.  :)

Third and final series, as I understand, as Chibnall is due to take over as showrunner of Doctor Who.
