Kinda confused about the tour announcement. Do we know anything about the presale tomorrow? Is it through the venues? Is there a password?
Bummed we get less than a day to plan for this. Also kind of weird the general sale begins Tuesday. What ever happened to Saturday? My employer blocks just about every site on the internet and my cell service isn't the greatest so I may have to wait several hours to stake claim on my seats. Not how I like to do it. :'(
-
I will be at Radio City Music Hall for sure. I can't miss this.

I recall that some of the VIP seats sold on the DT website for the DT12 tour were less than spectacular seats for some cities. In fact, I scored better seats when tickets went on public sale and I ended up reselling my VIP package.
(I'm fine with moving this thread to the concerts page, or combining if a similar thread already exists)
-
I will miss the Boston show as we are away on vacation. Working The Lovely Mrs TAC on Radio City. It's going to be a long shot!

If the presale is like in europe then it is a small sunset of the tickets spread out around the theater sold through dreamtheater.net.
The actual sale will be through CrowdSurge where you will need to create an account after you have found your tickets (if you don't have one already).
If you are not able to get to the normal sale intil after a few hours I would suggest presale.
Got tickets for the first announced Stockholm show through presale on a hard pressed work week. Ok tickets but quite a bit back after presale had been going for hours. Then I tried to get better tickets when general sale went up. Due to meetings at work this was also hours later and the tickets I found were worse than through presale.
For the second annonced show I tried as soon as the general sale went up and got 4th row...
-
Hopefully i can get ticks to Denver.
-
This going to be the first tour I miss since the Train of Thought tour in 2003. :'( My new daughter is due few days before the only show I could attend.
-
I'm sure she'll understand.
-
any word on the RCMH show? theres nothing listing it on the RCMH site or LiveNation. I'm guessing at 10 the links will update on DT's end, just don't like how last minute this all is :\
-
I will be at Radio City Music Hall for sure. I can't miss this.
Pretty much, this. Bar beforehand?
I just got my ticket. Orchestra 4, Row A.
-

I'd be down, definitely should do a dtf meet up. I booked my hotel room already as well. Not that I can't get home, but life is easier when you don't have to worry about that.
-
RCMH, First Mezzanine 3, row A :tup
would like to have been on the floor closer to the band, but this will be a great view
-
Got my tickets for the Baltimore show....Center Orchestra... row S (so 20ish?).... works for me.
-
Is it broken or did all of the presale tickets sell out for RCMH in a couple minutes? I can't find any pair of tickets in any section.

I just got my ticket. I'm not driving in. I'm definitely taking public transportation. I can't be worried about driving and having a few drinks. You could have driven to me and taken public transportation with me and just crashed at my place.
If anyone wants to use my place as a resting ground, feel free to ask.

RCMH, First Mezzanine 3, row A :tup
would like to have been on the floor closer to the band, but this will be a great view
Damn you! ;) I was hoping for row A but had to settle for row B in the first mezz 300's. Should be awesome.
-
I kept refreshing and eventually got pretty good seats:
Orchestra 5, Row XX, Seat 501 $79.50 $8.00 $87.50
Orchestra 5, Row XX, Seat 502 $79.50 $8.00 $87.50
Im pumped!
Thanks for the offer Prog, I have spend over 50 nights a year in hotels so I have status and staying at a hotel with my friend is the best option for me. For mostly the same reason, I plan on drinking and don't take the risk of driving when doing so. Since it's a Saturday though, I can get into the city early for some bar hopping or whatever. Going to be a good time.
-
I just hit my Staples easy button! Got box H (mezzanine) row A almost in the center for the Cincinnati show at Taft Theater. :metal I was going to go for the floor, but love the seats I got since there will be no one in front of me.
Amazing to me that the two tickets I got were 135.00 with fees. I paid much more for two tickets for Rush and Fleetwood Mac.
Now I have to call my wife and tell her how easy it was to get the tickets. I tried to get her Adelle tickets yesterday with no luck even though I was on line at the stroke of 10:00am.

Indeed, it will an amazing time. I'll look into finding a decent place to hang out beforehand. I'm always in the area for work. Unless anyone else has a recommendation of course. We still have plenty of time.

Toronto Sony centre orchestra pit row GG seats 61-62!!!!
-
I was definitely caught a little off-guard this morning when I saw that this tour was happening. But, I couldn't miss them for the 2nd straight tour. A little selfish on my part. But, as a result, my daughter will be indoctrinated into the world of Dream Theater at RCMH the night before her 9th birthday. My wife, daughter and I will be 2nd Mezzanine, 2nd row, on the end. Can't frickin' wait! Hope she has fun, too. ;D

4 tickets for Toronto! Right orchestra row A. I'm very pleased with what I pulled up!
I checked to see what else I could pull up and there are no more seats coming up in that price range. Feeling very lucky.

RCMH Orchestra 5 Row JJ Seats 503+504 Hanging with John and Jordan this time around (assuming they the same config on stage). Stoked!

Ditto on the prices. Only thing about the CT date is that my girlfriend will be in Ireland and we have pets at home. I'd either have to take a half day or leave the animals by themselves for a ridiculously long period of time. A DTF meetup in the city would be fun as hell. On the other hand, I want to buy a CT ticket so the band managers will view CT as a viable venue for future tours (not sure why they've bailed the last few).

This, its such an awesome venue and I only became a fan shortly after the filming of Score, plus add in Saturday night in NYC.... just amazing set up for a perfect evening.
Chino, come to NYC.
-
Fuckkk. Idk. I just bought tickets to the CT show. I've seen DT at RCMH. I was in the 8th row for the SCORE filming. Great venue. As much as I'd love to do NYC for the day, I have to be conscious of my money. Three weeks prior to that, I'll be in Vegas for a few days. A day in NYC might be stretching my budget for April.
-
What do you all think - VIP tickets or normal tickets? I can't decide for this go-around.
-
Does anybody have the Live Nation presale code? Thank you!

I hear you. Money is an issue and CT allows me to the do this show for a third of what an NYC show would cost. At least a third.
Plus, the Oakdale is an amazing venue! So I'm stoked.

No code, use dts website

I see that LiveNation has a presale code, which is why I asked in case anyone has gotten them through LiveNation/TicketMaster.
Which do you guys reckon is better, buying them through DT's website or LN/TM?
-
I bought them through DT's site.
-
Chicago presale was bogus. Closest i could get for three seats was twenty rows back in the center. Took a chance to find better and it was all way off to the side. Im gonna take a chance on the general sale on tuesday. Now all presale appear to be sold out.
-
I bought them through DT's site.
This is what I did, but I did not even know there was another presale. EIther way, I got awesome tickets so no complaining here. Wish I could have been closer, but I got an Aisle seat in the lower orchestra.

Yeah. Just getting to NYC and back would be about what a single ticket costs to see them in CT. I'm sure I'd ended up spending at least $75-$100 on food and booze as well if I were to attend the meetup. The Oakdale is top notch with really comfy seats. I got front row in section 205. With no one in front of me, I'm going to be the asshole that sits the entire show.
-
Scored 3 tickets for the Orchestra Center Section, Row B in Boston. I reckon that's the first row in that section, about 16 rows from the stage! STOKED!
Got them from the website. I'd go there first, Lark. It was pretty straight-forward.

I'm right in back of you! Should be a great vantage point to see everything going on. Those seats are good enough for me.
-
Yes! Just bought 3 seats in Orchestra 2, Row K for the Taft Theatre. I'm looking forward to going there since even though I live in Columbus, I've never actually even been to Cincinnati.
-
Scored 4th row in front of the stage for Montreal :metal
-
I've seen the dates for the North American tour. Not seeing any love for the SF Bay Area. Any plans to add more dates to include us? Not feeling the love.
-
<somewhat of a repeat from the other thread>
Didn't realize that my wife was a member on dt.net. She grabbed us two seats at The Hippodrome in Baltimore. Front row balcony, and only $102 INCLUDING all the added fees. Third time she'll be with me for a DT concert (out of twelve). Yup, I'm a lucky guy.
-
Man $400.00 bucks for the M&G !!!!!!!!! That's with the exchange rate.
I'll be going regardless.... ;D. Damn you Canadien dollar :tdwn

Got the meet & great package for Los Angeles. Row CCC. Had BBB, but let em go by accident.

I'll be a few rows behind you, Row B, almost center over a little on Petrucci's side (although with this different presentation who knows if the normal sides will hold). Just about perfect. No M&G, that doesn't interest me.
-
From where I sit in Miami, it is painful to see everybody getting seats and getting psyched for the shows. I hope ya'll get the experience of a lifetime (I'm sure you will) and I'll keep hoping against hope for a miracle.
-
So I notice that there are three days between the Denver and Los Angeles shows. Abravenal Hall (https://www.slccfa.org/venues/abravanel-hall/) in Salt Lake City is wide open during those dates. Come on, promoter, get this done!

That's gonna be a great seat because that area is super elevated, so you will be eye level with the stage and at the perfect listening location. I'll be down in the pit looking way up.

No expert here, but judging from what I've figured out today, go with Live Nation, or the site that the venue's site directs you to. DT's presale doesn't seem to actually have the good tickets. You'll need to find the code for the presale somehow, though. I found the code for the Los Angeles show on the venue's Facebook page. It was "bells". See the thread I just created in the concerts section...
-
BAM!! Wiltern general tickets first to be sold out on DT site. Let's see if Live Nation's stash goes just as quick. Could be the brewing of a second Los Angeles show.
-
Got row EE right in the center at the Chicago Theater! Looks like that is fifth row, so this will be by far the best seats I've had for a DT show.

When did you get them? I was on right at 10AM and could only manage row PP. I opted to try for the general sale. I wonder if it had to do with the fact that I wanted 3 tickets.

I was refreshing every few seconds right at the turn from 9:59 to 10:00. I've always had really awful luck with tickets, but I was psyched to pull EE. My dad is flying down from MN and these are by far the best tickets that we have ever had for a DT show. I'm guessing the 3 tickets played into it for you, but I've never really understood how they partition ticket groups for all of these presales.

Tickets for the Toronto show went on sale on dt.net at 9:56 and I got right pit GG seats 61-62 . Must have been a glitch or something
-
Anyone think they're going to get another NA tour in some time next year, playing a more normal setlist, with any shows closer to the south? Last time I saw them was in Richmond, but I'd be plenty happy to do DC as well.
I'd like to think they would, but their last tour in the States was somewhat similar and so as of right now I'm limited to a long trip to NY and back, for a show that will be almost entirely comprised of an album I've yet to hear or (by extension) enjoy. Unfortunately I simply can't bring myself to bite on that :-\
-
Well the album will be out before the show so you'll have time to decide if it's worth the effort.
-
Yeah that's right. I'm just not sure I'll be able to get good seats, which is a big deal if I'm going to put in 15 hours of driving. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong. And hell, if I really do enjoy the album I'll make it work. I'd just really appreciate a more 'normal' NA leg as well, since I wasn't able to see them on their last run through.
-
Yea I hear ya, unfortunate. There is always stub hub to find the seat you want but thats likely to cost a bunch more or you can do the opposite and get the ticket now and put it up for resale if you don't make it.
I would like to see them do a normal tour after this, get a more well rounded set list like the past summer tour.
-
Was able to score 2nd row for Minneapolis during yesterday's presale!! :tup Only thing that sucks that it's the same night that The Who is also playing in Minneapolis. Didn't have tickets for that one yet.

Congratulations on the kickass seats. In retrospect, DT played the second leg of the ADTOE tour at a different theatre and I think I had similar seats as what you got but I only bought two so I guess having the extra person was the death knell.

Well fuck me running.... looks like I'll miss my first tour in 15 years. Will be in Mexico for the LA show >:( >:( >:(

Toronto... Orchestra Row B, far right. I'll take it.
Didn't know any of the presale codes, so I winged it, and got in with "astonishing" (since I don't have an American Express card anymore). That's the LiveNation presale code.

Not for Cincinnati, it ain't.

What's the presale code for Denver?
I tried Dream and it didn't work
-
Same with Seattle.
-
I got my tickets for the Cincinnati show. I waited for the public release today at 10am local. Balcony 4! :metal
-
No show for Phoenix (at least for now), so I grabbed 2 VIP Gold tix for the Denver show (Row F) and then promptly booked a flight using miles for a whopping $11 (I knew they'd come in handy some day). Hoping they make a second run at spots they skip the first go around, but happy I'll get to see them on the initial one.
Of course now that I booked Denver, they'll probably fill in the gap between Denver and LA with PHX, in which case it's going to be an expensive week. :metal

I'll be at the Denver show as well (and flying with points too!!). I'll decide if I get the VIP tix later but at least I got a ticket at the Orchestra Center (2nd to last row, I want to ABSORB THE WHOLE THING...background, lights, sound, the playing, etc..)
EDIT: Damn, 300 bucks....I'll have to really think about this since I've been trying to pull out from debt I have.

See you there! I got box H first row last week. I figured the sound may be best in box and balcony instead of orch. level. This will be my first DT concert.
-
I got two tickets for the April 24 show at the Hippodrome in Baltimore. Orchestra Row X. Anyone been to that theatre before or comments on the sightlines from orchestra seats?
-
^
great venue
Start a thread for it, and will respond when I have more time.
(oh, and Go, Red Wings!)

I'll be there too :) Orchestra 2.
You will have a great time. I still get super hyped up for every DT concert, and this will be the 5th time that I've seen them.
-
I just returned a VIP meet and greet for the Denver show. First row, center. Should be available if you try get it.
I decided to keep the gold VIP instead.
-
I just got the e-mail from DT today about the tour, but noticed it does say in the e-mail "...with additional dates to be announced soon" so keep your hopes up in the areas without an announced show.

Got tix for the Albany show. Whole family this time, including my son-in-law who's not a fan. Yet.
-
Wiltern in Los Angeles is basically sold out except for a few mezzanine seats in the back wing.
I think there is a good chance a second Los Angeles show gets added.
-
Well, I just got my Christmas present, and it was 2 VIP Platinum tickets to the Chicago show.
Was pretty floored. Although I'm not 100% sure who's going to go with me. I have very few friends in the area that actually like DT enough to do a 4-hour road trip.

Wiltern in Los Angeles is basically sold out except for a few mezzanine seats in the back wing.
I think there is a good chance a second Los Angeles show gets added.
Well, that's a bummer for me. I'd love to go to this show, but it's just a tad out of my price range, and I don't know anyone that wants to go with me, especially with this show being a show where the new double concept album, that has yet to be released, may be a tough thing to convince people to come with me.

I got 12th row center tickets for the Portland show the minute the presale started. :metal

No info for this on the Mesa Arts Center web site yet. Very strange.
Like I said, I expected this right after I bought tickets, airfare, and hotel to see them in Denver.

check the band's twitter for a few more show dates added, happy to see the bay area got one, even though i'll be at the NYC show :tup

Just picked up Gold VIP for Mesa, AZ cause seeing them two nights earlier apparently isn't enough for me. :metal :censored  The Mesa, AZ Gold VIP is listed as a M&G too, which is interesting because the price was actually $0.50 less than the non-M&G Gold I got for Denver.

BINGO!!!
Got Gold for Friday (Row A) and Platinum for Saturday (Row CCC)

I know this should probably go elsewhere but I just found out my friend is moving back east and can't join me for the May 5th show. Anyone local or coming to town that would be interested in a Gold VIP M&G ticket?
-
Unfortunately there aren't any western Canada shows :( Just means I have to fly out to see my first DT concert! I chose the Seattle show on May 11th, which is nice since I've always wanted to visit the city anyways. Anyone else going to the Seattle show?

I will be at Radio City Music Hall for sure. I can't miss this.
Did you order you tickets through Songkick? TicketMaster?

Same here, but I can't seem to log in. It's saying it doesn't have my email address in their database. I know they charged me for the tickets because I see it on my bank account, so I guess I'm going to have to call them in regards to getting an email so I can print the tickets.

I don't think I created an account. I also paid the extra money to have the tickets mailed, I like keeping my ticket stubs. My confirmation says tickets won't be printed until a couple weeks before the show.

I'm going to call them just to be sure.

Do so just to be sure, if I don't get my tickets close to the date then I will as well, but I am not worried. This happened over the summer for the 311 show I went to, I got the tickets on time, but freaked out when they didn't arrive as I *thought* they should have, but I was wrong with the timeframe.
-
I think I have the receipt that I printed when I ordered them. I'll see what that says.

Well if you can't log in that's a separate issue so you should get that checked out regardless.

I'll do that when I get home. Right now, I'm trying to explain to my coworker who gets paid six figures that a CSU/DSU isn't going to work properly on a 9.6kbps circuit if the dipswitch is set for 56k. She can't seem to figure out why the connection won't come up. So I'm a bit angered to call up some defenseless tech at Songkick.

lol good luck

I got 2 tix pre-sale for the Denver show...Orchestra Left row K...9 rows from stage....(JM's side), this will be my 2nd DT show at the same venue....really looking forward to this one. It is going to be a long wait till May 3rd. :) Hope to see a few of you there.

I got two tickets for Denver. Orch. Right Row W seats 5-6. Not bad at all. Taking my friend who's gonna drive there.
-
Looks like I will have to go to Denver, even though I live in Texas. When the NA tour was announced back in December, it was with the tease "more dates to be announced". Little did I know that quietly already happened and Texas was not one of them (just like Maiden's new tour).
Can't pass up the chance to see DT play a new CD in its' entirety. Especially a concept LP!
-
Last time DT played Texas was back in 2011 but I caught the flu and could not go >:(. Last time I saw them was when they opened for Maiden in 2010 and they were amazing!
-
All set! Got Denver Dream Theater ticket, hotel, airfare. Finally get to see DT headline...and play a full new CD on top of that!

Congrats! I did the same thing (got Denver tix, plus airfare, hotel, and rental car), but then about a month later, they announced an Arizona show, so now I "have" to go to both. :metal
Unfortunately my friend can't attend the AZ show, so I'm still trying to offload my second row seat/M&G ticket. It'd suck for it to go to waste.
-
Looking forward to the Seattle Show at the Paramount Theater. Awesome venue! Got some new DT fans to come with. The new album won them over.. :)

Same here. It's my first headlining Dream Theater show. I had bought tickets for 2014, but couldn't go due to an emergency. But I'm glad because it's a concept album and a big one at that, which I really enjoy

Next time consider Mexico City. The flight is about the same distance and it offers a lot of other benefits. You'll save a bundle and live much nicer while you're there. It's also likely that you'll find a much livelier crowd than you will in Denver. I suspect it's probably my default go-to destination for concerts that don't come to Texas. While Denver has traditionally been one of the concert options, that has more to do with camping and seeing shows at Red Rocks. Denver itself really has very little to offer.

Legal highs! Just went to the Red Rocks last week, I would love to see a concert there, but otherwise agreed on Denver not being a city with much to offer, but is Mexico City safe? I've never talked to anyone who has gone there before and that is my immediate concern with going there.

Red Rocks suffers from a couple of failings as a concert venue. For one thing the surroundings distract you from the show. Worse, though, is that the wind wreaks havoc with the sound. Still, it's an amazing place to see a show.
The places where a tourist will go to in Mexico City are reasonably safe. Think of it this way: is there any reason why tourists would wind up wandering around Mott Haven some night? Do you worry about getting shot, stabbed, raped, poisoned and then raped again around Times Square? DF is huge, and you're going to spend your time in a 2miČ area covering a couple of neighborhoods. You'll also see more cops than you've ever seen in your life. Basically, the same rules apply in DF as in NYC. Be mindful of your surroundings, know where you're going and don't look like an idiot.
-
Maybe because I live outside NYC, but NYC always feel pretty safe to me. I know nothing of Mexico City other than Mexico in general can be dangerous which is why I asked. Maybe one day I make it there.
As for a negative of the red rocks.. high altitude I would have thought would be one.
-
I wasn't necessarily recommending it for somebody up in your neck of the woods. For a guy ostensibly in Terrel, it's a great option. And I'd consider Mexico City and NYC very comparable in terms of crime. There are parts you don't want to go to, but the normal places a visitor are likely to spend time are pretty safe. Interestingly, insofar as murders go, DF is actually safer than Texas and many other US states. It's only when you get to the border towns that it becomes particularly shooty.
Altitude is only a problem at Red Rocks if the show is the first day you're there. Whole lotta steps to climb to get there. After a day or two you're more accustomed to the air and it's not really a problem. One of the times I saw Rush there, there were times where it sounded like Lifeson disappeared altogether. Middle of a solo he'd just go quiet for a few seconds and then reappear. That's how significant the wind can be.
-
Yea, I know your recommendation wasn't towards me, but I wanted to chime in because I thought it was interesting in case I ever wanted to travel below the border for a concert. I always thought it would be cool to see a metal concert down there since the crowds are crazier.
-
I live in Mexico City, so better insight on how 'safe' it is you probably cannot get. :D
There is crime as in most major cities in the world, but given it's the second largest city in the world (just behind Tokyo) you will find that if you stay away from the 'bad' zones you won't have any trouble. The northern cities of Mexico (those in the border with the US, mostly) have higher rates of crime because of the whole war against drug dealers that's been happening over there for years, so I guarantee you will have a nice time down here.
Also, metal crowds are far crazier here. I saw DT once in LA and went to another concert recently in London and the vibes are entirely different. You get a far more passionate crowd in these parts. If you ever come down here, feel free to send me a PM or something and we can meet up!
-
I didn't see a thread for the 4/29 Michigan show. JLB seemed to be on fire this night, I heard no pitch issues. My DT concert group felt the same.
-
Could anyone who purchased a vip package trll me what you actually got ? Thanks.

Was anyone at the Portland show? I heard Labrie gave the audience the middle finger during the show. I'm hoping someone took a picture.

From JLB facebook
Can't believe we only have one show left on our current NA tour.
Thank you to all you incredible fans for making it a great run and success.
We will make a point of coming back to Canada and in through the States. There were many areas left out and we need to correct that before moving onto another album and tour... not that that's going to be happening anytime soon.
See u all late fall or early 17'
Raaaaawwwwwk it hard until you can't.

Well, at least we can basically say that there will definitely be a second leg. It's not confirmed, but at least we know it's in the band's interests.

Per DT subreddit it was because the audience was lame and had low energy throughout the show. Although reddit is not the best source of information so I'm wondering if anyone here can confirm.

I find that hard to believe and likely a joke based on the audiences for the whole tour. I can't see JLB who comes off as a nice guy, giving the crowd the finger because they weren't lively.

I kept re-reading the post of JLB's wondering what you found so funny about it. I must have read through it six times and still couldn't find what was so damn funny. Then I realized you were laughing at what I said in the post above yours.

JLB said "Hey Columbus, fuck you!!!" at the 2008 DT show in Columbus. It was totally a joke, as one of the openers said something similar (if I remember correctly, a mic picked it up and wasn't meant to be heard by the audience) and JLB was reminding everyone of it. It was hilarious. A short moment of relative silence, followed by mass laughter.

Was at the Portland show and I didn't see Labrie flip off the crowd... He had a tough time during the first act, but knocked it out of the park in Act II. On the MP rumor...
