80s and 90s cartoon openings
Relive your Saturday mornings.

(part 3 is blocked, so I looked to see what was on there and unfortunately some of my favorites (Denver the Last Dinosaur, Captain Planet, and Beetlejuice) were on there so I know what ones I"m looking for separately)

Every so often, I take a trip down memory lane on YouTube watching these TV intros from my youth.
I don't recognize 90% of these cartoons, but the ones I do have a special place in my emotions. I recall some of these not being on Saturday morning, but M-F morning. I'd wake up early and watch two (1 hour total) of morning cartoons like MASK or Transformers. I lived relatively close to school and would have everything by the door ready to go when the last cartoon ended (before the credits) and make a mad dash to school.

MASK and transformers are in part 1. I watched 1,2 and 5 tonight (5 had all the Disney ones like gummy bears, duck tales, Chip and dale; and others like count duckula, snorks, and danger mouse... Can't wait to watch the rest

I do remember Saturday mornings being a battle between cartoons, video game console or just playing outside. So no wonder I want to remember my youth. Saturday mornings were so awesome.

some real gems in there....Blackstar and Thundarr the Barbarian were awesome.
part 3 had Dungeons & Dragons so that was a bummer.
didn't see Johnny Quest or the Herculoids on any of the lists.

Johnny Quest was 70s. I know they still had it in the 80s but it was my dad's favorite cartoon when he was a kid and he is in his mid-50s. Don't know herculoids.
And agreed about pt3. Denver the Last D

Holy crap I had all but forgotten about Gargoyles. What an epic opening.

Ya, I guess Johhny Quest was older than I thought.
After some research it appears The Herculoids was actually from the late 60's, but had a short revival in the early 80's.

Cool find! But where in the blue hell is Star Blazers? Did I not see it? I just scanned them quickly.
-
Haven't watched it, but no Star Blazers?
What about Battle of the Planets? Or Ultraman?
-
What amazes me, in hindsight, is that some of these shows had really awesome theme music. For example, MASK and Thundercats had absolutely bitchin' intro music.
-
funny, those were my two favorite theme songs
Back in the day, I recorded the Thundercats theme song with one of these bad boys so I could replay it as I was having battles with the action figures:
