Could be interesting.

This looks like it could be pretty cool. I hope they try and adhere to the laws of physics and can back up most of the movie with solid science. Anything that turns the public's attention toward Mars is okay in my book.

I'm not sure I have a lot of faith in Ridley Scott these days, he makes his movies look amazing but so much characterizations get thrown out. Talking about Exodus and Prometheus. Potential to be classics but really just pretty to look at movies.

I'll go see it. I like this type of stuff.. Looks interesting enough....although I'm not sure about casting Kristin Wigg in any serious role. Maybe she'll be good but she makes me laugh even looking at her.

Looks really cool! Can't wait!

As said above - it's Ridley Scott so at least it will *look* amazing.
Hoping Prometheus and The Martian dusted off his sci-fi chops and Prometheus 2 will be great.

Liked the book a lot, even though it's pretty much Cast Away meets Apollo 13

The Martian is written by an actual author. not by Damon Lindelof.
It's already better than Prometheus.

If this doesn't fall under the usual Scott "5 hour movie condensed hastily into 2 and a half hours" it may be pretty good. Judging by the trailer I'm guessing it'll be a much better paced and edited movie than his previous although I still have my doubts.

Not to beat a dead horse about Prometheus, after watching the documentary and extras on the bluray and listening to the writer's commentary I don't hold the fault completely with Damon. I mean he still makes me want to punch him every time he's talking since he sounds like a petulant pre-teen. But much of the portions that were cut or shortened were really Ridley's fault. He became so focused on getting the movie at 2 hrs, didn't mind cutting out some of the important exposition and wanting to make it seem so deep and a biblical allegory. Both writers had some good ideas but it fell on poor execution. I still watch the extras now and then just cause I like to punish myself.
