Jk, of course not better than the original. But a unique take on the vocals for a school project. Haters Gona Hate.

Well, the sound is way better than the original. It's also not at all a bad cover.
-
That was pretty good actually. And yeah, interesting take on the vocals. I enjoyed it.
-
wanted to listen all the way through but after I realized the drummer was the dude who freaked out when hearing "Along for the Ride" for the first time, I couldn't watch any more.
-
:| is it just me or is the playing incredibly sloppy ?
-
I would definitely say that the whole thing is held together by the click track they used (which they must have since they were using JR's original keyboard track). I'm pretty sure they would fall apart when trying to play it live.
-
My biggest critique is that the singer sounds like he cut his vocal chords with a knife and then let them heal on their own.
Seriously, I cringed because of how painful it sounded
-
Actually I really liked the vocals.
-
Didn't really enjoy that. Drummer's foot work was not on at all in many parts and overall it didn't work for me.
-

Same here. Sure, his voice is probably not the most maintainable, but who cares. I thought it brought some new element to a cover that otherwise would probably have been a "eh, I guess they can play it". In fact, I have always wondered what DT would sound like with a more metal singer; this is probably as close as it gets.

Normally I avoid these threads like tire fires because frankly, I don't care what someone can cover, but when people started saying the singer was unique I had to listen. I like the grittier take. Folks, if you are going to cover something, make it your own like these guys did. :tup

Yes, this. The vocals are quite awesome, and basically the only reason I went ahead and listened to this cover. Great job.

This, totally this.
Now, that statement could of course also be directed at the band that was being covered here... ;D
-
The mix/sound is a lot better than the original, but IMO the band is quite sloppy. Nonetheless I like this take on the vocals.
-
Vocals came in and I noped out.

Exactly my reaction.
