What would you choose?
Mine would be...
1. The Bigger Picture
2. A Change of Seasons
3. Octavarium
-
Metropolis - I'm sure it'll be played live again for years to come, but I have yet to see it in person, and I have to.
The Killing Hand - Hasn't it been a while since they played it? I'd love to see it in person.
And honestly, any of the DT12 songs that they haven't played this time around would be great. I love them all.

Sounds good to me....................make it TBP.
-
1) Lines in the Sand - Love the drumming and guitar solo
2) Behind the Veil - Would make a great show opening or second set opening
3) In the Name of God - Heavy!
-
Learning to Live, Metropolis and Octavarium. Quite simple really - they're my 3 favourite DT songs and I've not seen any of them live.
-
1. A Change of Seasons
2. Another Hand / The Killing Hand
3. Don't Look Past Me - still waiting.
-
Don't Look Past Me - still waiting.
I have a feeling you're gonna keep waiting.
-
The Glass Prison - what a great opener would this be, time to dust it off
Blind Faith - the perfect follow up and the chorus could really benefit from the Mangini-era backing tracks, thus we could finally have a good live version of it
ACOS - anniversary, would make an excellent encore
-
Hell's Kitchen>Lines In The Sand (Yes, I know that's two songs, but I'm cheating)
A Change of Seasons
The Glass Prison
-
The Glass Prison
Octavarium
Surrender to Reason
-
Don't Look Past Me (one they haven't performed)
A Vision '86 (the best of the Majesty demos, IMO)
Instrumedley II based around the 12 Step Suite (doesn't exist yet, but since this whole thread is hypothetical, it's my choice!)
-
Learning to Live
A Change of Seasons
The Glass Prison
-
The Glass Prison
Octavarium
Surrender to Reason
Great choices! If I could add a 4th and 5th, they are right here!
-
Definitely Octavarium. Then it becomes difficult, but I think I'll go with In The Presence of Enemies in full and, uhm, I don't even know. Probably Take the Time without any omitted parts.
-
The Killing Hand
The Glass Prison
Blind Faith
-
Since they couldn't do a 2nd leg in the US due to lack of interest, I'd want these 3 from DT12!
The Bigger Picture
Behind the Veil
Surrender to Reason
-

The Bigger Picture
Behind the Veil
Surrender to Reason
Lack of interest was the reason they didn't do a second U.S. leg?

Yeah - this is the first time I'm hearing that this was the reason why they're not doing another run thru North America. Got some firm evidence to back up that statement, As I Am?
-
-Octavarium
-A Change of Seasons
-In the Presence of Enemies
-
The Ministry of Lost Souls, Voices & A Change of Seasons.... the three highest ranking songs on my most recent top 50 list that I've never seen live.
-
1) The Ones Who Help to Set the Sun
2) A Rite of Passage
3) Behind the Veil
-
Maybe As I Am meant lack of interest by the band in doing another leg?
-

Yeah, they should do TtT.. It's the only one from I&W that it hasn't been play with MM.. AND, be sure they won't cut a single part.. MP is gone.. So that's impossible...
-
A Change of Seasons
Stream of Consciousness
Raise the Knife (extremely unlikely, I know)
-
There's a whole lot of songs I want to hear them play live. My number 1 song to hear them play was TDoE so I got to scratch that off of my list, but there's still plenty more. I guess I would have to go with my 3 favorite DT songs so in order:
1. Octavarium
2. The Count of Tuscany
3. A Change of Seasons
Obviously they wouldn't play all three songs at the same show since that would take up over a third of their set, but those are their three best songs IMO so to hear them live would be amazing (especially 8VM).
-
Hell's Kitchen>Lines In The Sand (Yes, I know that's two songs, but I'm cheating)
A Change of Seasons
The Glass Prison
That's the first 3 I thought of. Hell's Kitchen would be a bonus.
-
Don't Look Past Me
Wither
Disappear
Going with my top three I've never seen live. Hope to check one of these off the list soon.
-
Octavarium
Take Away My Pain
Home
-
A Change of Seasons
The Best of Times
Voices
-
1) The Ones Who Help to Set the Sun
2) A Rite of Passage
3) Behind the Veil
I'm not sure if you're serious or joking? Quite interesting choices, not many like ARoP or TOWHTSTS.
But my list could be:
The Glass Prison - as the concert opener
Hell's Kitchen/Lines in the Sand -that combo could be killer in live
Metropolis - just haven't seen it live yet, it's just a must see live song.
-
Pretty much all the songs that they did not play from the new album.
1. The Bigger Picture
2. Behind The Veil
3. Surrender to Reason
-
THE GLASS F'ING PRISON DAMMIT
Sorry, but seriously. :lol
Blind Faith
Octavarium
-
Hey! Pipe down. Some of us just woke up. :lol
-
Learning To Live
Surrender To Reason
A Change Of Seasons
-
Don't look past me
You not me
Just let me breathe
-
Maybe As I Am meant lack of interest by the band in doing another leg?
Maybe, but in all likelihood that statement probably has the same amount of credibility attached to it either way. Which is probably not much.
-
Probably.
-
The Great Debate
Behind The Veil
Surrender To Reason
Would also want:
Home
The Bigger Picture
Voices
Build Me Up, Break Me Down (Haters gonna hate  )
The Count Of Tuscany
Misunderstood
Lines In The Sand
Take The Time
-
1: A Change of Seasons
2: Glass Prison
3: Silent Man (acoustic)
-
Since I assume that the other three DT12 songs will be played next tour, I pick the following:
1. TtT
2. BF
3. ES
(4. TGP)
If not, then BtV would bump ES down by one.
-
I'm going to use all three votes for ACoS. It is one of my all time favorites and I've never seen it live. I'd like to see the other songs off DT12 but, IMO they're almost certain to play those.
-
Don't look past me
You not me
I like the cut of your jib, good sir.
-
Off the top of my head:
Hell's Kitchen
Lines in The Sand
The Ones Who Helped To Set The Sun
I'd also like to see another acoustic set. Maybe include Take Away My Pain and the piano version of Wither. But that's an additional two I'm not guaranteed.
-
A Change Of Seasons
Learning To Live
Stream Of Consciousness
-
Gonna go predictable and then personal faves.
1. ACOS
2. ITPOE (whole thing not Part I only)
3. ANTR
Cheating but also I would like The Glass Prison, This Dying Soul and The Ministry of Lost Souls (Just for my dad).
-
1-Learning to Live
2-Octavarium
3-The Bigger Picture
These 3 songs, god I'd do lots of things to hear all 3 live at one concert considering I've heard another one (Scarred) I wanted to hear live recently. But I'd like to hear A Mind Beside Itself, all 3 songs, as an extra to the first 3 that I really want
-
Surrender to Reason, The Bigger Picture and Behind the Veil.
-
The Bigger Picture
Behind The Veil
Surrender To Reason
I really expected them to play any of these three on the last tour, but they didn't. I'd like to see them drop "Enigma Machine", "Along For The Ride" and "The Looking Glass" in favor of these three because I think they're stronger songs, and 3 of the best on the last album. Hopefully if they do play all three, there's a live album to follow with them on it.
-Marc.
-
Surrender to Reason
Behind the veil
Where are you now? :heart
-
So tough. I'd say Take The Time, The Ministry of Lost Souls, and Voices.
-
The Ministry of Lost Souls
I so hope they do not bring back Ministry of Lost Souls. They've got far better 14 minute songs to play instead of that yawning fest, like In the Name of God for example.
-
The Ministry of Lost Souls

I'd love to hear The Ministry Of Lost Souls again, beautiful song!
Anyway:
1. A Change of Seasons
2. The Great Debate
3. Misunderstood

Me too!
-
ACOS - Surrender to reason - and I'm still hesitate for the third, between In the name of god and The great debate...
-
A Change Of Seasons as an encore would be amazing.
Take The Time
Blind Faith
-
You not me 3 times to make up for all the times they haven't played it.
-
The Bigger Picture
Behind The Veil
Surrender To Reason

So damn this!
StR, BtV, and TBP are my 3 favorites from DT12, and EM and TLG are my 2 least favorite. AfTR is right in the middle.
If they would have made these replacements on the BTFW DVD, it would have been a 9.5/10 for me, and would be up there with Score and Budokan.
-
The Ministry of Lost Souls
I so hope they do not bring back Ministry of Lost Souls. They've got far better 14 minute songs to play instead of that yawning fest, like In the Name of God for example.
Have you experienced it live?
I agree that it does eat up a good amount of set time, though.
-
Personally, I think "Illumination Theory is more of a "yawn fest" than ItNoG is.
-
Dark Eternal Night
Constant Motion
Presence of Enemies (Pt. 1)
-
The Count of Tuscany
Hell's Kitchen
The Bigger Picture
-
Hell's Kitchen
Lines in the Sand
A Change Of Seasons
-
8VM
8VM
8VM
Yes, three times in a row.
-

The Bigger Picture

Surrender to Reason

Yeah - this is the first time I'm hearing that this was the reason why they're not doing another run thru North America. Got some firm evidence to back up that statement, As I Am?
Nope, just an assumption since they didn't do a 2nd leg in the US as well as hearing that a lot of the shows on the 1st leg weren't very well attended.
-
I just want to see songs I haven't seen. How about Disappear, Only a Matter of Time, and Through Her Eyes? Or... Far from Heaven, The Great Debate, and Take Away My Pain... hell, I'll take ONE song I've never heard and be happy; I'd be ecstatic if I got three!
-
2 songs that I pretty much expect:
- The Glass Motherfucking Prison
- The Bigger Picture
Songs that I'd be very excited to see played again:
- Lines in the Sand
- Home
- The Count of Tuscany
Songs that I'd be quite surprised, but also very happy to see played again:
- A Rite of Passage
- Panic Attack
- Constant Motion
- New Millennium
- Honor Thy Father
- In The Name Of God
Sorry I don't think I followed the rules very well... Anyway, obviously I can't have them all or I'd be practically taking up a setlist, but take your pick. Any of those I'd be stoaked if they show up. (Except DT12 songs which are practically guaranteed?.. Maybe.) :lol
-
Repentance
The Glass Prison
In The Presence of Enemies
-
Octavarium, Lines in the Sand and Six Degrees.
-
The Ministry of Lost Souls
I so hope they do not bring back Ministry of Lost Souls. They've got far better 14 minute songs to play instead of that yawning fest, like In the Name of God for example.
Altho I can think of several other songs I'd rather hear than ItNoG, I gotta agree that I would hope TMoLS doesn't make a return, aside from perhaps the instrumental section - the rest of the song is booooooorrrrrrrrring.
Nope, just an assumption since they didn't do a 2nd leg in the US as well as hearing that a lot of the shows on the 1st leg weren't very well attended.
Understood, but just a word to the wise, best not to state assumptions as if they were facts. Remember what happens when you ASS(out of)U(and)ME! ;)
-
Blind Faith, Solitary Shell, Surrounded (without MM adding too much unnecessary drumming if possible)
